Street Fighter 6, adding in new fighting game-themed cosmetics, including an armor set resembling a powerful warrior. This crossover between two of Capcom's biggest recent titles is unsurprising, but full of content for you to explore. From a unique layered armor moveset, detailed gestures, and even a new side quest, this collab brings true street fighting to your hunts.

The crossover for Monster Hunter Wilds is similar to a previous collab with Street Fighter back in Monster Hunter Rise and World. In both events, you are able to unlock cosmetics resembling characters and moves from the Street Fighter series, usually revolving around a specific fighter. In Monster Hunter World, the characters were Ryu and Sakura, while in Rise, it was Akuma.

Monster Hunter Wilds x Street Fighter 6 special collab keyart with various cosmetics

The Street Fighter 6 collaboration with Monster Hunter Wilds starts on May 28, 2025, lasting indefinitely with no set end date. This means that players will have an unlimited amount of time to earn or purchase items included in the crossover. This is reminiscent of past Capcom collabs, such as the Dante armor set and unique weapon you can still earn in Monster Hunter World to this day.

It's A New Era For Monster Hunter & Capcom

Monster Hunter Wilds is one of Capcom's best-selling titles around the world, but could the bold choices it made define the series in future chapters?

This day also plans for an additional 8-star Tempered Monster to be added to the game, leading to new gear possibilities. As of this time of writing, it is unclear whether this monster is directly tied to the collab and its new gear, but it seems likely. Other features and adjustments to the game will be added on May 28, 2025, altering some gameplay elements you'll have to load by updating your copy of Wilds.

Akuma Returns As Another Layered Armor Set

Unleash The Raging Demon Against Different Monsters

Just like in Monster Hunter Rise, Akuma returns as a unique armor set you can collect to give your hunter the appearance of the master of the Satsui No Hado. The murderous intent of Akuma can be unleashed against The Forbidden Land's dangerous creatures, using many systems seen in Street Fighter 6. Players can unleash Drive Impacts, Gou Hadoukens, Gou Shoryukens, and more to strike at monsters they hunt.

The Akuma armor set introduced in the Street Fighter 6 collab includes 5 new pieces of armor resembling the character as they appear in Capcom's newest fighting game. This armor is considered a layer armor as well, meaning you can use its look while wearing different gear sets for different effects.

You'll be able to claim the new Akuma armor set by participating in a new side mission added in the collab update. This special side quest, called Ultimate Strength, sees you find Akuma and learn how he fights to master techniques honed by the wandering warrior. You need to be Hunter Rank 21 or higher to start the quest tied to Akuma's armor, so make sure you finish enough of the game's story to reach that point.

Once you meet the right requirements, you can go to Quinn, the Vespae Unit Handler, in the Oilwell Basin Base Camp to start the Akuma side quest. Alongside the Ultimate Strength mission, you can complete the following collab arena quests in Monster Hunter Wilds to earn more rewards tied to Akuma's arrival:

  • Demonic Strength
  • True Strength

When you have the Akuma armor set, you gain a set of actions tied to the character's moves from Street Fighter. You can select Akuma's actions from the Item Bar to perform special combos that damage monsters, using deadly martial arts strikes and special moves. The attacking power of Akuma's moves is determined by the weapon you have equipped, with some dealing more damage than others.

How To Get Every New Item From Monster Hunter Wilds' Blossomdance Festival

With the launch of Monster Hunter Wilds' first seasonal event, there's plenty of new content to unlock, but crafting the gear isn't a simple task.

Equipping the full armor set of Akuma's gear will grant you a considerable attack boost alongside other unique skills. When wearing the full Akuma set, your Assisted Combos will gain stun properties, while the Drive Impact move gains an Offset that can counter monster attacks. Those only wearing the fully layered set for Akuma won't gain these additional effects from their other armor skills.

Earn Additional Costumes For Characters Who Your Hunts

Beyond the Akuma armor set, you can earn special cosmetics also introduced in the Street Fighter 6 collab. Many items will be added to the in-game Store, while others can be earned for free by completing new activities. Each of the Gestures included in the Street Fighter 6 collab each have attacking properties, meaning they can damage monsters similar to the Akuma actions from his full armor set.

Unlike the new items from the Blossomdance Festival still ongoing, the Street Fighter 6 collab cosmetics will remain in the Store and game permanently after their inclusion. This gives you an unlimited amount of time to earn or purchase each item, so take your team if you need to. As someone who personally plays Akuma in Street Fighter titles, I'll be trying to get his full armor set as soon as possible.

The smaller Gestures from the paid collab DLC are not nearly as powerful as the unique actions from Akuma's full armor set, but they still pack a punch. Each of Akuma's moves inspired by Street Fighter 6 offers a fun new way to hunt monsters in Monster Hunter Wilds, using the power of the Dark Hado to establish dominance over even the strongest Apex Predators.
