With Marvel's Spider-Man and Miles Morales.

Moon Knight is an interesting hero who has been featured in both the cosmic and street-level stories of the Marvel universe. His vigilantism has caused him to work with heroes like Spider-Man and Punisher, while his connection to the Egyptian God of the Moon, Khonshu, allowed him to work with more mystical heroes in the Marvel universe like Doctor Strange and Ghost Rider. Moon Knight also has DID (dissociative identity disorder), which means that he has multiple personalities, each with their own lives and adventures, exacting justice as the "Fist of Khonshu."

The Marvel games universe isn't a shared one, but that could change eventually. Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy showed the space-faring heroes traveling on a hand that could take anyone to any universe, and even namedropped heroes like Spider-Man. This could entail a future crossover one day between the two games. With the Marvel games multiverse expanding with another Insomniac IP, Marvel's Wolverine, many other Marvel heroes like Moon Knight could get the spotlight one day.

Moon Knight's Personalities Could Work Like Batman's Detective Mode

Split image of Moon Knight and Steven Grant

Marc Spector is Moon Knight's most predominant personality and conducts the more combative jobs of the hero. His work as a mercenary and veteran have proven to be useful in many sticky situations in both the show and the comics, and it's this personality that could be used for the more gritty parts of gameplay. Marc could "summon the suit" and use it to defeat enemies in Marvel's Spider-Man and Web of Shadows combat style.

Another personality of Moon Knight is Steven Grant, who has a fairly different characterization in the comics than his TV series counterpart. In the comics, Steven is a suave entrepreneur who conducts the business details of Moon Knight's work. In the show, Steven is more of an average Joe type of character. Steven takes on the suit of Mr. Knight, and this suit and personality could be used as a kind of detective mode similar to the one seen in Batman: Arkham. This suit might be used for puzzle-solving gameplay and would be a good way of implementing Moon Knight's multiple personalities into the game's mechanics.

A Moon Knight Game Could Have A Linear Story Like Marvel's GOTG

Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy Spider-Man Game Puddle Controversy

A Moon Knight video game could have a linear narrative similar to Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy. While an open-world Moon Knight story set in New York would be fun to see, Marvel's Spider-Man has already done that multiple times. A Moon Knight game would likely serve better with a more linear story, following its hero as he traverses the world to uncover ancient Egyptian artifacts. He has a history of traveling the world already, and a linear story could potentially better showcase his different personalities as part of his travels to different places.

A linear storyline also allows the narrative to focus on the dynamic of Marc, Steven, Jake, and Khonshu. Moon Knight has a lot of interesting characters that are deeply tied to the character's arc, with three of them being in one person. An open-world story could cause the narrative to go all over the place, when Moon Knight is a complex character that would likely be showcased better by a narrative that dives more into his mind in a thoughtful way. A story focused on Marc Spector traveling the world to uncover artifacts and stop an ancient Egyptian evil with the help of some friends and Khonshu would likely be more impactful.

A Moon Knight Game Could Connect To Marvel's Spider-Man

Every Marvel Game Releasing After Guardians of the Galaxy

A Moon Knight game could also connect to the Marvel's Spider-Man game universe. In the comics, Moon Knight worked alongside Spider-Man in a team known as the Ultimate Warriors. This team was comprised of Spider-Man, Moon Knight, Shang Chi, and Iron Fist, and followed them on their way to take down Kingpin. Kingpin has already been featured as a prominent villain in Marvel's Spider-Man and Miles Morales, and the games could be used as a good base for an Ultimate Warriors storyline. This could also be used to expand upon Marvel's Spider-Man's story, which is currently Insomniac's flagship series along with Ratchet & Clank.

Moon Knight has been quickly becoming a fan-favorite character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and he could be the next major Marvel character to get a video game set in Insomniac's Spider-Man universe. Along with Marvel's Wolverine, Insomniac could build up a massive Marvel video games universe that could set up not just an Ultimate Warriors story, but also a whole Avengers storyline. With the pay-to-win controversy around Marvel's Avengers making that game far less of an unqualified success for Square Enix than it might have hoped, Insomniac and other game studios could develop a whole Marvel's games universe to set the groundwork for a number of interesting crossovers. Moon Knight could definitely develop the street-level aspect of Marvel's game's universe alongside Marvel's Spider-Man really well.

Moon Knight would be a great hero to feature in his own game as he would expand upon both the street-level and cosmic aspects of the Marvel's games universe. Marc Spector's multiple personalities and archaeological endeavors would be great for developing a good linear story and his connection with Khonshu would establish a better cosmic storyline in the Marvel's games universe as a whole. From brutal combat and gameplay to a deep connection with other Marvel heroes, there are many aspects of a Moon Knight game that would make it a more unique title and not just Marvel's version of Batman: Arkham Knight.
