Vulture has been a big part of Venom began in 2018. Throughout the development and promotion of the movie, there have been plenty of questions about what other Marvel characters could appear. While Sony has put its focus on Vulture's involvement, Venom is much more important to Morbius.
From the moment the first Morbius trailer arrived, questions arose about which Marvel universe it existed in. The marketing has referenced Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man, Tom Hardy's Venom could also be in Morbius too.
Despite the attention Michael Keaton's return has received, Morbius needs Venom much more than Vulture. The movie squarely exists in the same cinematic universe as the Venom franchise, as the marketing has even referenced the symbiotic hero. Venom is the biggest star of Sony's Spider-Man villain universe and should be the connective tissue between the various films. This can allow Sony to build its own cinematic universe and explore how these different characters and movies impact each other. Vulture's appearance can't do the same thing, as this will be the first appearance of Michael Keaton's villain in this continuity. While he can be a piece of the larger puzzle, Venom is the character that can give Morbius a place in Sony's universe and tease their shared future.
It is understandable to a degree why Morbius is bringing back Vulture and focusing on him so much. The MCU connection creates a lot of buzz, although it is already confirmed that Sony's Marvel universe exists outside of the main MCU timeline. Venom's appearance in Morbius will be even more exciting for viewers than seeing Vulture again, especially since he won't be the same version from Madame Web, and others will all be tied together.
Although Sinister Six movie. Vulture can help push some of those plans along too, but Venom's Morbius appearance will hold more weight based on the current status of the franchise and the future.
