A line in the new Sinister Six movie. It was actually the first Morbius trailer that provided evidence for this idea in the first place with its Michael Keaton cameo. Given that Keaton plays Vulture in the MCU, there was a strong suspicion that Sony was putting two Spider-Man villains together to set up Sinister Six.

The Kraven the Hunter, which will see Aaron Taylor-Johnson portray Sergei Kravinoff, the titular Spider-Man villain and classic Sinister Six member. Just the mere existence of these characters in this world was enough to make Sinister Six feel like the most obvious future for Sony’s Spider-Man Villain Universe.

The second Morbius trailer piled on with an intriguing line from Michael Keaton’s character, where he told Morbius (Jared Leto) “you and I should stay in touch.” Assuming that his character is indeed Vulture, this scene fits well with the Sinister Six theories, as it hints at Morbius and Vulture seeing each other again in the near future. The idea of two classic Spider-Man villains being in would certainly be one more big step toward Sinister Six becoming a reality. Plus, there may be other characters who have grabbed Vulture’s interest off-screen. Or, they may have yet to meet him. It could be that his next stop is wherever Kravinoff’s story takes him in Kraven the Hunter.

It’s worth noting that Vulture showing up may not be the only Sinister Six clue in the Morbius trailer. Marvel Comics Easter eggs on a newspaper confirmed that Sony’s Spider-Man Universe boasts more villains than the ones that the movies have formally introduced. Both Rhino and Black Cat are around somewhere, and could be available for hip. The two being recruited by Vulture (or a different character) would make sense, even though they don’t have their own movies (at least, not yet). Sony may have no intention of giving every member their own movie before assembling the team.

What Sony has planned for Morbius and Vulture in regards to the Sinister Six may depend largely on what ultimately happens with the MCU and the multiverse. How the MCU’s Vulture is in Morbius, what Venom’s jump to the MCU in multiverse disaster in Spider-Man: No Way Home comes about are all mysteries that could have major implications for a potential Sinister Six movie. The exact placement of these characters in the multiverse can determine who’s on the table for Vulture’s team of villains.
