It looks as if DC Comics' The Joker and The Terminator's Terminator, it has yet to receive any new additions to its single-player story mode.

This isn't surprising, as no Mortal Kombat game has ever seen plot-based DLC extend the game's narrative past whatever was included in the game's shipped story mode, which has been used in roughly the same fashion since 2008's Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe. Before then, the PlayStation 2 era (specifically Deception and Armageddon) saw the main plot being delivered in an RPG-like fashion throughout those games' Konquest modes. However, none of those stories were ever extended or expanded upon post-launch... until now.

Earlier this morning, the official Mortal Kombat  released a video on end of Mortal Kombat 11's story mode. Instead of Liu Kang gaining control over the powers of time and changing the fate of the universe, however, he is interrupted by three silhouetted figures emerging from a portal, with one of them recognized as Shang Tsung by Raiden. Check out the video below:

It's hard to tell who the other two characters that appear at the end of the above video are, but it's very likely that one of them could be the fan-favorite fighter Mileena, who players have been asking for since the game's roster was first released. One of the characters could also be the much-maligned Reiko, who has multiple cameos in Mortal Kombat 11 but is not introduced as a proper playable character at all. Players will be able to find out more tomorrow, as another trailer is expected to drop at 6:00 AM PST.

Hopefully, players will not only be treated to new story and new cutscenes but also some new characters and (hopefully) some new locations to fight in. It's unclear just exactly how much new content NetherRealm is planning on bringing to Mortal Kombat 11 or when it will be made available, but it will be great for players to have more options (and more ridiculously convoluted plot and timelines) to explore.
