- Aubrey Plaza reportedly plays a villain in the Agatha: Coven of Chaos Disney+ series. Her character remains a mystery, but one option the series may employ is making her a Scarlet Witch variant. The Scarlet Witch's most powerful iterations in Marvel Comics run the gamut, and with the MCU already establishing that different actors can play the same character in the multiverse, it's at least a possibility. If Plaza ends up playing a new character, Scarlet Witch variants from the comics likely appear in live-action as The Multiverse Saga unfolds.
The Scarlet Witch counts among the most powerful characters in Marvel Comics and as a Nexus Being, unique in the Marvel Universe. But like every other Marvel superhero and supervillain, powerful Scarlet Witch variants exist in different timelines and realities. With The Multiverse Saga unfolding in the MCU, some likely appear in movies and series.
Wanda Maximoff's variants mostly share powers with the Earth-616 version, but some possess unique power sets that fuse other characters with her, like her brother, Quicksilver. Others harbor the power to create their own realities and alter others making the Scarlet Witch the most dangerous character in many ways to inhabit the Marvel Universe.

Aubrey Plaza reportedly plays a villain in the Agatha: Coven of Chaos Disney+ series.
15 The Witch
The Witch, Wanda Maximoff from Earth-8823, shares the same powers as the Earth-616 Scarlet Witch. These include the ability to alter probability, which can destabilize not just events but physical matter and energy on a molecular level. She used this power to alter reality in House of M, a comic book storyline that inspired WandaVision.
This Wanda variant served with the Exiles multiversal team during its second volume in 2009. They sought Emma Frost, who killed Wanda's brother Quicksilver in this grim alternate reality.
14 Scarlet Warlock
Another Scarlet Witch variant from Exiles comics changes the character's gender. The Scarlet Warlock holds the same potential in Chaos Magic, the dark mystical power derived from Chthon. With this power, The Scarlet Warlock generates chaos and unpredictability on a quantum level, disrupting other magic and powers.
The Scarlet Warlock displayed immense and unpredictable power when he combined with Magneto, Quicksilver, Wolverine, and others to create Brother Mutant, an intimidating mutant hybrid.
13 Gypsy Witch
Morgan le Fay stands a chance to be the Marvel Comics character Aubrey Plaza is playing in the MCU. Morgan le Fay created the Gypsy Witch, a Scarlet Witch variant in a reality fashioned into a Medieval setting. Gypsy Witch wields epic power and energy, including the ability to resurrect Wonder Man from the dead.
She ultimately broke free from le Fay's grip and saw through her false reality. She helped the Avengers break free and turn the tide, changing reality back to the status quo.
12 MC2
The Scarlet Witch from the MC2 universe shares the Earth-616 Wanda's powers, including the ability to manipulate reality. She used these gifts to tragic effect. A cataclysmic battle with a powerful Doctor Doom variant left her injured, but with Iron Man's help, she used her powers to keep portals from Doom's universe closed to theirs even while she was in a coma.
Things got worse for Wanda from there. Loki captured her and manipulated her for his own bidding, but she harnessed her inestimable fortitude to escape and gain her freedom.
11 Golden Witch
The Golden Witch uses her powers, which include controlling the elements, for ignoble purposes. A.I.M. brainwashed her and other Avengers including Spider-Man, Hawkeye, and the Hulk into serving the villainous organization, ultimately taking over New York City and threatening the world.
Under A.I.M.'s control, she fought against her fellow heroes and proved her might against them in epic battles that played out in 2020's Marvel Action: Avengers comic books.
10 Onslaught Reborn
The Scarlet Witch from the Onslaught Reborn universe, essentially a copy of the original Counter-Earth from the 1990s Heroes Reborn event, also possesses the same powers as Earth-616 Wanda. She wields extraordinary knowledge and skill in magic, able to conjure complex spells and counter them.
Wanda also possesses something called Witch Sight, a magical perception that functions something like ESP. She sees things others cannot and also perceives invisible or intangible people or objects. She used these powers alongside her fellow Masters of Evil.
9 Ultimate Scarlet Witch
The Scarlet Witch from the Ultimate Comics universe teleports, flies, and creates far more powerful disruptions with her powers thanks to a need to be mathematically accurate to implement her complex hex spells. Her precision also aided her in her supernatural gifts, though she sometimes lost control.
A more considered and patient Scarlet Witch, she never lashed out in the same way the Earth-616 Wanda did during the House of M and Avengers Disassembled storylines, in some respects making her even more powerful.
8 Antimony
Marvel Vs. DC, the 1990s crossover event between Marvel and DC, produced many powerful variants. Antimony splices together the Scarlet Witch and Platinum, with unusual results. Not only does she leverage Wanda's considerable magical ability, but her arms transform into unbreakable blades.
Her arms utilize a Diamagnetic casing, an indestructible metal like adamantium or vibranium. She fights alongside Magneto and the Magnetic Men against the evil Sinistron.
7 White Witch
Another Marvel and DC Comics 1990s crossover resulted in Amalgam Comics. This generated the White Witch, combing the Scarlet Witch with Zatanna, among the most powerful DC magical beings. With their combined power, she wields unimaginable potential, including the ability to perceive and teleport to other dimensions.
She s forces with Doctor Strangefate, a character composite of several prominent superheroes including Doctor Fate, Doctor Strange, and Professor X from the X-Men.
6 Age Of X
The Scarlet Witch from the Age of X alternate reality also enjoys the same broad powers as her main universe version, with one major exception. Wanda ceased to be a mutant in Earth-616 in a controversial Marvel Comics retcon, but in this reality, she was considered an Omega-Level Mutant capable of telekinesis, telepathy, and more.
Omega-Level Mutants include Storm, Magneto, Iceman, and others. This Scarlet Witch very nearly destroyed Magneto, who in this reality was still her father. The comics also retconned that, but with the MCU incorporating mutants, that could change again.
