Even though Marvel's "Infinity Saga" is now complete, that doesn't stop fans rewatching their favorite scenes from across the 23 films. From 2008's Avengers: Endgame there have been many unforgettable and re-watchable moments and it's hard to picture any MCU movie that doesn't have at least one 'geek-out' moment.
It doesn't look like Marvel is slowing down any time soon with Black Widow and numerous new shows on Disney's new streaming service, Disney+, just around the corner, so until fans get fresh jaw-dropping scenes in those projects, let's take a look at YouTube's top 10 most-watched MCU movie scenes from "The Infinity Saga".
26m Views: Thor Arrives In Wakanda
Towards the end of Marvel's phase three, Thor was becoming arguably the front-running Avenger after the wild success of Avengers: Infinity War and enlisted Rocket Racoon and Groot to assist.
Once retrieving his new ax "Storm-breaker", Thor used it to summon the Bifrost and return to earth to fight alongside his fellow Avengers. The directors also decided to bring back the original Avengers theme from Avengers: Assembled for this jaw-dropping entrance which fits perfectly with this amazing moment.
27m Views: Captain America Vs Ultron
James Spader gave an unforgettable performance as the menacing villain Ultron in Avengers: Age of Ultron which hit theatres back in 2015. Ultron's final plan was to create the ultimate Vibranium body for himself which ended up becoming The Vision played by Paul Bettany later in the film.
This was partly thanks to Captain America managing to hold off Ultron on his own while the others tried to retrieve the body before Ultron managed to transfer his consciousness into it. Through his access to multiple databases, Ultron knew everything about Captain America's history, but that didn't stop Steve Rogers from being able to pierce Ultron's armor with his shield and successfully retrieving the Vibranium body.
31m Views: Avengers Vs Guardians
One of the most highly anticipated team-ups of the MCU was the Avengers finally coming together to fight with the Guardians of The Galaxy. Making their first appearance in Guardians of The Galaxy in 2014 fans knew that somewhere down the line, the two teams had to cross paths. However, when they met for the first time they did not know whether the other team was fighting for or against Thanos.
Peter Quill was highly motivated to find the Mad Titan after Gamora was taken to Vormir to retrieve the Soul Stone, which leads to Peter Quill, Drax and Mantis attacking Iron Man, Spider-Man and Doctor Strange onboard Thanos' ship. The clash of personalities between Peter Quill and Tony Stark lead to some very comedic conversations.
35m Views: Hulk Vs Thanos
In the end credits scene of Thor: Ragnarok viewers saw the Asgardian rescue ship being approached by Thanos' ship which leads directly into the first scene of Avengers: Infinity War. After Thanos had decimated half of the people on the ship, with few managing to escape in a pod, Thor, Loki, and Heimdall remain barely alive in front of the Mad Titan and his team.
A great callback to the first Avengers movie in 2012 was when Loki announced: "we have the Hulk...". At first, it seems as though Hulk has the upper hand on Thanos but the situation soon takes a dramatic turn and Thanos shows us why he's the most powerful villain the Avengers have ever faced by easily overpowering him.
37m Views: Hulk Catches Iron Man
The first battle where fans saw the entire newly assembled Avengers fight side by side was the battle against the Chitauri, Thanos' army that was sent to help Loki conquer earth. The story made it seem as though Tony Stark was going to sacrifice his life to send a S.H.I.E.L.D nuke through the wormhole created by the Tesseract, and blow up the Chitauri mothership.
Even though Tony narrowly escapes the explosion and starts falling back to the portal, it seemed unlikely that he would cross over to Earth in time but once he did, gravity set in and Iron Man was plummeting through the air. Thor was limbering up ready to catch Iron Man but Hulk jumps in to save the day.
61m Views: Thor Vs Thanos
Once Thanos had managed to retrieve all 6 infinity stones he was ready to snap away 50% of all living creatures in the universe. Moments before the original snap occurred Thor managed to hit Thanos by throwing Storm-breaker through the air, against a uni-beam with the power of all 6 Infinity Stones, and impaling it in his chest.
If Thor managed to kill Thanos, the narrative of the film would have made Avengers: Infinity War into a Thor-centric movie, however, because he didn't go for the head, the fact that Thanos managed to carry out the snap kept the narrative centered around Thanos.
63m Views: Lifting Thor's Hammer
This scene was revealed slightly earlier than Avengers: Age of Ultron's premiere in summer 2015. At San Diego Comic-Con 2014, fans got an early look at some footage from the movie where the Avengers take turns to try and lift Thor's hammer.
Some fans were disappointed that Captain America was seemingly unworthy to wield the hammer, though it can now, thanks to the events of Avengers: Endgame, be assumed that Captain America simply stopped lifting the hammer - an idea that Avengers: Age of Ultron director Joss Whedon presented when a fan at SDCC 2015 challenged him on Steve Rogers' unworthiness.
67m Views: "I'm Always Angry..."
Avengers: Assembled gave fans their first look at Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/The Hulk who appeared halfway through the movie on the S.H.I.E.L.D heli-carrier. The film seemingly presented the Hulk as a mindless beast given that his first act was to almost kill Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow. However, this scene showed us that not only is Hulk more than capable of being a fellow Avenger but that Bruce Banner can transform whenever he chooses and not just when he gets angry.
Throughout Avengers: Assembled fans never see Hulk transforming back into Bruce Banner, yet in Avengers: Age of Ultron, only the transformation from Hulk back into Bruce Banner is shown.
86m Views: Iron Man Vs. Thanos
One of the greatest fan moments of the century. Tony Stark finds himself on Titan, Thanos' home planet, in a one-on-one battle after surviving having a moon throw at him. Using the latest version of his armor, the Mark L, Tony was able to make the Mad Titan bleed using a rocket-powered ram that appeared around his fist.
Thanos has been in Tony's head since the Chitauri invasion 7 years prior so this fight symbolized Tony meets the personification of his "curse". It could be argued that the two characters have more in common than fans initially realize. Tony's luck only lasted until an attempt to stab Thanos went wrong and lead Tony to be impaled by his own dagger, which he survives.
155m Views: Thor Vs Hulk
Coming in at the number 1 spot is the original fight between Thor and Hulk in Avengers: Assembled. Hulk was still a mindless beast and Thor was the only avenger at the time that was powerful enough to contain Hulk's destruction. This is the first of two fights between the two Avengers in the MCU before a rematch ensued, to fans delight, in Thor: Ragnarok.
Although the first fight had no clear winner with the Hulk jumping to attack a S.H.I.E.L.D jet, the rematch showed Hulk as triumphant thanks to the Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum) electrocuting Thor, rendering him weak - an ironic response from the god of thunder.
