Warning! This issue contains SPOILERS for Scarlet Witch #5

The newest issue of Marvel's Daredevil should be an ongoing "thing". In the comics, it's actually been quite some time since Vision and the Scarlet Witch were romantically involved on the page. To that end, there certainly are some intriguing vibes readers will no doubt pick up on between Maximoff and Murdock in this brand-new issue from Marvel Comics.

In Scarlet Witch #5 by Steve Orlando and Lorenzo Tammetta, Wanda Maximoff is fresh off the foreboding reveal from the previous issue that the elder God of Chaos known as Chthon is now free, having been imprisoned within the Scarlet Witch herself who managed to break free during Wanda's recent battle with the Griever at the End of All Things. Now, The Scarlet Witch's magical Last Door has taken her to a magical crisis in Hell's Kitchen. As such, Wanda naturally encounters Daredevil who accompanies the Scarlet Witch in her investigation into a haunted subway car and its multiple demon-possessed engers.

Working together, one would think a street-level vigilante and a powerful sorceress wielding chaos magic wouldn't mesh all that well. However, this new issue proves The Scarlet Witch and Daredevil should have teamed up long ago (and could even explore a new romance in the Marvel Universe).

The Scarlet Witch and Daredevil eventually deduce that the source of the magical darkness in Hell's Kitchen is a servant of Chthon known as the Bricklayer who is celebrating his dark elder's newfound freedom. Wanting to provide his master with new followers and a church, the Bricklayer is confirmed to be the one behind the demon possessions and the ghostly subway car. Regardless, the crimson-clad superheroes are more than prepared to take him on in this new issue.

After her debut alongside Agatha Harkness in Scarlet Witch #6, Scarlet Witch’s new pupil Amaranth will be confronted with her sons, Wiccan and Speed.

On the whole, a Daredevil/Scarlet Witch team-up is pretty rare in the Marvel Universe, and Wanda and Matt confirm as much in this new issue. After all, they've usually only worked together alongside other heroes, rather than just the two of them alone as seen in this new adventure below Hell's Kitchen. To that end, it ends up being a very exciting opportunity for the two of them to not only interact more than ever before, but to also complement each other's abilities once they find the Bricklayer and his victims.

Daredevil and Scarlet Witch Actually Work Quite Well Together

The Witch and The Devil Have Lots In Common

Beyond the shared color scheme, Daredevil and The Scarlet Witch have some key things in common. Although they typically operate in different worlds, they both know the importance of learning how to grow from the mistakes and pain of their past. They know they aren't perfect and acknowledge the sins of their past, and both are working towards ongoing redemption and being better than the people they were. Likewise, Daredevil also holds a strong belief in a higher power and the supernatural due to his faith as a devout Catholic.

In Marvel Comics' current Daredevil series, Matt Murdock runs a youth home as a priest.

Keeping that in mind, it's impressive to see Daredevil holding his own against the demon-possessed civilians right alongside The Scarlet Witch. For example, the battle culminates with Murdock successfully performing a mass exorcism in Latin while Maximoff takes on the Bricklayer directly. As such, this issue perfectly highlights Wanda and Matt's complementary strengths. However, the issue also alludes to some potential sparks as well.

There's Some Solid Flirting Between Scarlet Witch and Daredevil

Maximoff/Murdock Should Be Marvel's Next Big Romance

Daredevil and Scarlet Witch Flirting in Scarleet Witch #5

More than once in Marvel's new issues of Scarlet Witch, Daredevil and Wanda are clearly flirting with one another. Matt Murdock even asks at one point if Wanda's sure they've never dated before, making a joke while seemingly communicating a genuine attraction that could (and should) be further explored down the line. Likewise, The Scarlet Witch was quite impressed by Daredevil's skills during their demon battle. At any rate, it's not hard to imagine that the duo would make an excellent couple in the Marvel Universe considering their similar personalities and great chemistry.
