The hit primetime teen drama One Tree Hill premiered on The WB network in September of 2003 and ended after nine seasons in April of 2012. The early seasons follow brothers Lucas and Nathan as they navigate high school, basketball, young love, and their strained, almost non-existent relationship. In later seasons, after a four year time jump, fans get to watch their favorite high school characters as adults, getting married, having children, and building their own grown up lives.

The show ended on high note, with good ratings for the series finale episode. In 2018, Hulu announced that it would be streaming all nine seasons of the series on its platform, so fans no longer have to miss their favorite teen drama and once viewers are done rewatching all nine seasons, there are some great movies to check out that any OTH fan is bound to love.

John Tucker Must Die

Brittany Snow faces off against Ashanti, Sophia Bush, and Arielle Kebbel in John Tucker Must Die

This high school comedy stars the same actress who plays Brooke Davis on One Tree Hill, Sophia Bush. In this movie, Bush plays Beth.

Beth is a tough, no nonsense type of teenager who happens to fall for John Tucker, thinking she's the only one he's dating, only to find out two other girls are dating him as well. The girls enlist the help of Kate, played by Brittany Snow, to get back at their boyfriend for cheating on all of them.

A Cinderella Story

This teen romance film puts a new twist on the classic Cinderella fairy tale and stars Chad Michael Murray as the lead heartthrob, Austin. Murray brings a lot of the same qualities Lucas has in One Tree Hill to the character he plays in this film.

Austin and Lucas are both sensitive and kind, and doing their best to find a balance between popularity and being a good person. Murray also manages to bring his inherent charm to each of these roles.

Freaky Friday

This is another great film for fans of Chad Michael Murray's character, Lucas, to watch. In this film, Murray plays Jake. Jake is a little more of a troublemaker than some of Murray's other characters, but still carries that same artistic and sensitive side that Lucas has.

In Freaky Friday, Jake falls for Anna while they're both in detention, but when Anna and her mom accidentally swap bodies, Jake finds himself falling for Anna's mom, not realizing it isn't actually Anna.

Bring It On

One of the main themes, especially in the first few seasons of One Tree Hill, is basketball. Estranged brothers Lucas and Nathan reconnect when Lucas s the high school basketball team, and his teenage life is changed forever when he's thrust into popularity's spotlight.

This also means Lucas is now friends with the cheerleading team, especially cheerleaders Brooke and Peyton. Bring it On is a great movie for fans to watch who miss the early years at Tree Hill High and seeing Brooke shine as captain of the cheerleading squad.

To All The Boys I've Loved Before

Tree Hill is known for its drama and nothing brings more drama than a love triangle. There was Lucas, Brooke, and Peyton's on again, off again romances, and then of course Haley, Nathan and Chris' drama in later seasons.

Fans loved picking their favorite couples and seeing if they would end up together, it's what kept viewers coming back week after week. To All the Boys I've Loved Before has some of those similar ups and downs of high school romance and the tangled webs it weaves.

Stuck In Love

This is a great movie for fans who loved the later seasons of One Tree Hill when Lucas has turned his focus to writing. Literature has always been a big theme of One Tree Hill, and there are some great books quoted and referenced throughout the series.

In Stuck in Love, the filmmakers also use literature as a theme to further all of the love stories told throughout the movie.

10 Things I Hate About You

This is another great teen romance comedy, especially for One Tree Hill fans who loved watching Peyton and Brooke's relationship play out week after week. Peyton is a little more emo, while Brooke is the quintessential popular girl.

10 Things I Hate About You has similar character dynamics between Kat, the older, edgier character and her sister, Bianca, the queen bee everyone seems to love.

Easy A

Easy A Movie

One Tree Hill, in a lot of ways, was a coming of age story. It shows all of the main characters growing up and dealing with typical high school issues like sex and love.

Easy A deals with those same issues, and even puts a comedic twist on them to make the story both fun and relatable. Olive, played by Emma Stone, feeds into a rumor going around school about her (which inevitably comes back to bite her), but her adventures along the way and the lessons she learns are similar to Brooke's evolution in One Tree Hill.

She's All That

Fans of One Tree Hill loved watching Haley transform from nerdy tutor girl to wife of Tree Hill basketball star, Nathan Scott, which is why they would also love the teen rom-com, She's All That, starring Rachel Leigh Cook and Freddie Prince Jr.

Like Haley, Rachel's character Laney flies under the radar at her high school until one of the most popular boys in school asks her to prom. The unlikely pair fall for one another, much to everyone's surprise, including their own.

The First Time

The First Time

This teen rom-com, released in 2012 shortly after One Tree Hill ended, stars Dylan O'Brien and Britt Robertson as a young couple navigating their first love. Like One Tree Hill, this film deals with all of the ups and downs of a high school relationship and learning to love someone for the first time.

It's romantic and sweet, and like the hit WB series, lets fans reminisce about their own past loves because it's so relatable and charming.
