Peacock features a robust catalog of movies and TV shows, with even more coming to the streaming service in October 2024. Launched to great fanfare in 2020, Peacock changed the streaming game with its mixture of free and paid content, and the streamer was able to land top-tier shows like The Office because of its NBC affiliation. In the years since its debut, Peacock has further expanded its reach by including many hit films on its platform, and it offers one of the largest streaming collections available. Like most streaming services, Peacock's catalog isn't stagnant, and each month the streamer adds dozens of new shows and movies to keep things fresh.

Additionally, Peacock has also become a home for live-streaming sports, and their lucrative deals with the MLB, Premiere League, and World Wrestling Entertainment have made them a truly multifaceted platform. The best TV shows on Peacock represent the upper echelon of streaming entertainment, and the service has begun to create memorable series and movies that rival the original content of their competitors. In October 2024, more than 100 movies and TV shows are new to Peacock, and that's excluding live sporting events, but in September, the streamer's most popular content continued to be reality TV on the platform as well as exclusive movies like The Fall Guy.

For more on the movies and TV shows coming to other streaming platforms, check out what's new on Netflix.

The 30 Best Movies On Peacock (April 2025)

Peacock has a wide variety of movies available to stream, with popular, award-winning, and genre-defining films in any genre a cinephile could want.

The Best Movies And Shows Arriving On Peacock This Month

The Craft - October 1

In October, most streaming platforms seek to capitalize on those interested in the Halloween holiday by adding a lot of horror content to their platform. For Peacock, a lot of the horror content just happens to be female-centric this month.

One of those new movies on Peacock is The Craft. Though a series inspired by the movie was made for Hulu, this is the cult classic that centers on a group of teenage girls at a private school who bond over their outsider status. They form their own coven and start getting revenge on those classmates who wronged them. Of course, they end up over their heads when one member of their group continues to seek out more and more power.

This is the perfect time of year to enjoy something like The Craft as witchy content is in full swing, though most of it is over at Disney+ with more family-friendly options.

The Final Girls - October 1

A horror movie as a love letter to grief isn’t the usual take. That’s what makes The Final Girls so special.

The Final Girls is a more meta take on horror. It features a young woman who is mourning the loss of her mother. Her mother, however, is also being grieved by her fans since she was the star of a cult classic slasher flick. When the young woman and her friends attend a screening of the horror movie, they find themselves trapped in the events of the movie and needing to use the horror tropes they know to survive.

The Final Girls isn’t just a great way to examine the genre or to explore grief. It’s also got a stellar cast with Taissa Farmiga in the lead role and Malin Akerman as her mother in the horror movie itself. Nina Dobrev and Adam Devine also have ing roles.

The Harry Potter Movie Series - October 1

Max has long been the streaming home of the Harry Potter movies. In 2024, however, the movies were contracted to Peacock for a short time. Now, the eight movies that make up Harry’s school years and battle with Voldemort are back on Peacock for October.

The movies begin with Harry finding out he’s a wizard and end with the battle of his life against one of the darkest wizards who has ever lived. While enjoyment of the franchise has been tainted for some in recent years, it’s easy to still love the movies that made Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson household names. The movies also make for a who’s who of British cinema as so many heavyweight stars turn out incredible performances, like Michael Gambon and Maggie Smith.

Of course, for fans who want a complete look at the Wizarding World, the Fantastic Beasts movies are still available on Max.

A Harry Potter series is currently in development for Max.

Jennifer’s Body - October 1

In keeping with the idea of Peacock seemingly celebrating women in horror, this underrated horror gem is also new to the streamer in October. Jennifer’s Body actually gets a lot of streaming time from different platforms, especially this time of year. It’s also available to stream on Paramount+ this month.

The movie sees the titular Jennifer turned into a succubus that needs to feed on humans in order to survive. Megan Fox is fantastic as Jennifer and Amanda Seyfried is equally perfectly cast as Needy. The movie explores the complex relationship between the two best friends, but it also takes a lot of the horror tropes that have been used in the past for male coming-of-age stories and applies them to young women.

At the time of the movie’s release, it wasn’t particularly well received, but Jennifer’s Body has become a cult classic that always sees talk of interest in a sequel crop up every few years.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie - October 3

For Peacock subscribers who have no interest in horror, there are some great family options as well. The Super Mario Bros. Movie makes for a great adventure for kids who are drawn in by the animation and for adults who have grown up playing the various video games. The movie is chock full of Nintendo Easter eggs for die-hard fans that will be easier to catch with multiple watches on streaming.

Here, Mario ends up in a whole new world when he and his brother attempt to work on a complex plumbing problem. In this new world, Luigi ends up kidnapped and Mario teams up with Princess Peach to go up against the dreaded Bowser. With the addition of characters like Donkey Kong, a standout musical number, and plenty of action, this is a movie most families are going to want to watch more than once.

Hysteria - October 18

For the Peacock subscribers who want their horror in a serial format instead of a movie format, there is the new Peacock original series Hysteria! The cast includes Modern Family’s Julie Bowen, Pitch Perfect’s Anna Camp, and the genre-hopping Bruce Campbell.

The new series is set in the 1980s and plays with the “Satanic Panic” that took American news by storm in the decade. When the high school quarterback in a small town disappears, the residents are quick to blame some sort of Satanic influence. Of course, a heavy metal group decides to use the interest in the occult to their advantage and rebrand their music as Satanic metal instead. That promptly leads to the becoming the subject of the town’s witchhunt.

The first batch of episodes will drop all at once on October 18.

Despicable Me 4 - October 31

Despicable Me 4 will be exclusively available to stream on Peacock starting on the last day of the month. The first two movies have already been available on the streaming platform.

In the fourth installment of the franchise, Gru is welcoming Gru Jr. to the family just as a new villain has escaped and seeks revenge. It’s got the same antics and fun of the first three movies, so it’s a great option for the whole family. Family-friendly options are certainly going to be welcome for those Peacock subscribers with young kids since so much of the new content for the month is centered around horror movies.

Throughout the month of October, episodes of television that air on NBC-Universal owned networks will also air on Peacock the next day. The streaming service is also the home to streaming other sporting events as well, including games for the NFL, but their availability on Peacock depends on their schedules.
