One of the most acclaimed movies of 2024 comes to Prime Video on October 1. Challengers is a unique sports story mixed with a complicated love triangle set in the world of professional tennis. Zendaya stars as a hugely successful tennis athlete who finds herself coming between two best friends and doubled partners (Josh O’Connor and Mike Faist). As complicated romances blossom among the trio, the movie switches back and forth over the years, revealing the build-up to an intense showdown.

From director Luca Guadagnino, Challengers is an engrossing and complex story of these three flawed individuals. Each of the actors delivers spectacular performances, highlighting the ion and the flaws of their respective characters. However, Zendaya has a star-making performance and the best of her career. Amazon Prime Video s can watch Challengers in time for award season when it is likely to be talked about a lot.

Brothers (2024)

Peter Dinklage and Josh Brolin make for an unlikely comedy duo in one of the most anticipated titles coming to Amazon Prime Video in October. Brothers stars the two acclaimed actors as brothers who have shared a long past as criminal partners. While Dinklage finds himself in a new dilemma and needs to pull off a major job, he is forced to reconnect with Brolin who has left his outlaw life behind. Added to the mix, the brothers are reunited with their even more nefarious mother, played by Glenn Close.

Along with this stellar trio of actors, Brothers is made even more enticing by the fact that Oscar-winner Brendan Fraser will be ing them as the movie’s chief antagonist. Brothers looks to be a raucous and wild R-rated comedy that takes advantage of the talented cast. Prime Video s can in on the laughs when Brothers arrives on October 17.

The Devil’s Hour Season 2

After two years, the British crime series The Devil’s Hour returns to Amazon Prime Video on October 18 for its second season. The show stars Jessica Raine as Lucy Chambers, a social worker who finds herself continually waking up at 3:33 AM every night and experiencing strange visions. As her life continues to be filled with strange occurrences, she finds herself drawn into the case of a serial killer (Peter Capaldi) who claims he “re” the future.

The series is a gripping, dark, and complex blending of the murder mystery genre as well as supernatural elements that combine into something truly unique. While the first season of the show had some wild reveals that pushed the story forward, there are still a lot of questions left to explore in this strange story once it returns for its sophomore installment.

Canary Black (2024)

A new action movie from Pierre Morel, the director of Taken will be premiering on Prime Video on October 24. Canary Black stars Kate Beckinsale as an operative in a secret spy organization who hides her dangerous life from her husband who is the only connection she has to the real world. However, when he is kidnapped, she is forced to betray the organization she has dedicated her life to in order to save the man that she loves.

Beckinsale is an actor who has delivered some terrific performances in the action genre, most notably in the popular Underworld movie franchise. It will be a thrill to see her back in this mode and taking down bad guys once again. Black Canary also marks the final movie of actor Ray Stevenson who sadly ed away in 2023, marking it as a bittersweet project.
