Warning: This article contains spoilers for Ms. Marvel episode 5.

episode 5 barely features Kamala, instead focusing primarily on her great-grandparents, Aisha and Hasan. While the episode answers many questions raised previously, it also leaves the viewer with a whole new batch of questions to ponder.

Ms. Marvel episode 5 spends most of its time in the past, following Aisha after she has escaped from the other ClanDestines with the bangle. She meets Kamala's great-grandfather, Hasan, and the two fall in love and start a family. It's revealed that Aisha died on the night her family left India, and somehow summoned Kamala to the past as she was dying. Kamala is the one who brings Sana back to Hasan with a "trail of stars." In the present, a rip is made in the veil that hides the Noor Dimension and Najma uses her death to close the veil, ing some kind of power to Kamran in the process, making him able to access the Noor like Kamala.

While Ms. Marvel episode 5 does much to uncover many mysteries raised in previous episodes, it sets up its fair share of new mysteries and questions. Ms. Marvel is gearing up for the end and with only a single episode left in the series, it's unclear how many of these questions and plot threads will be left dangling for future properties to deal with. Here's a roundup of the biggest questions and mysteries posed by Ms. Marvel episode 5.

How Did Kamran Get His Powers?

Ms Marvel Episode 4 Kamran

The newest episode of sees Kamran gaining powers. While it's only a brief scene, they seem to be very much the same as his powerset in the comics. The receipt of his powers is definitely tied to his mother, Najma, as he's shown to receive them after her sacrifice at the veil. Just how this works has not yet been revealed, but her dying word was her son's name; it's possible she was ing her powers onto him in some way. Still, it's not yet clear exactly the role he'll play in the MCU going forward.

What Are Kamran's Powers?

Kamran in Ms. Marvel episode 2 and comic book Kamran side-by-side.

Kamran is only seen using his powers briefly to throw a drone off balance and ultimately make it explode. This is consistent with his powers in the comics. He is generally shown to be able to emit a bright energy from his body that can shock his enemies and make objects explode. With what little has been seen of Kamran's powers in Ms. Marvel episode 5, it seems his powers have remained unchanged.

What Other Powers Does Kamala's Bangle Have?

Kamala's powers have been consistent in Ms. Marvel so far, so the ability to travel through time comes as something of a surprise. Time travel is a vastly different power than creating hard light constructs. It's not entirely clear what else Kamala's bangle might be hiding, but given it's something that's been sought after by so many, its abilities might be great indeed.

Kamala's bangle was found in a ruin with references to the Ten Rings. It's completely possible that it's an artifact on par with their level of power — artifacts that were strong enough to tear down a barrier that held back a world-ending force in origin with the Ten Rings, it's likely that more of its powers will be explored and discovered after Ms. Marvel ends, with the answers to those questions holding some weight for the larger MCU.

What Happened With The Veil?

Ms Marvel Noor Dimension Map

Just how the veil to the Noor Dimension was ruptured isn't entirely clear. It could have been some sort of from Kamala's bangle reacting to Najma's attack or it could have been the after effect of using as much energy as it must have taken to time travel. Equally unclear is just how Najma closed it. As Waleed warned in Ms. Marvel episode 4, if the veil were to be opened, the Noor Dimension would try to consume all the Earth. Apparently, the ClanDestines' exile was meant to be permanent as not even they could touch the veil without it killing them.

Did The ClanDestines Really Die?

A ClanDestine dies at the veil to the Noor Dimension in Ms. Marvel episode 5.

Ms. Marvel has shown the ClanDestines to be its major antagonists. While many of them died in previous episodes, killing them all off before the end of the series is certainly a surprise. It's possible that more is going on than meets the eye — and certainly, Kamran believes his mother will return for him. The existence of his powers suggests a new connection to the Noor that didn't exist before. Perhaps Najma is indeed there on the other side of the veil, empowering her son.

Not much is really revealed about the Noor Dimension or the ClanDestines in Ms. Marvel. It's possible that touching the veil didn't truly kill any of them, instead freeing them from this realm and sending them back home. While leaving behind nothing but a mineralized skeleton doesn't bode well, it's also not a sure sign of death when dealing with a dimension about which very little is known.

What Does The Inscription On Kamala's Bangle Mean?

Mehwish Hayat as Aisha and Fawad Khan as Hasan in Ms. Marvel episode 5.

The newest episode of Ms. Marvel reveals the meaning of the quote on Kamala's bangle. "What you seek is seeking you" is a personal mantra her great-grandfather, Hasan, believed in and Aisha took to heart. It has to do with accepting one's role in building one's own destiny. Essentially, what is put out is what is gained. Hasan shows this in the way he treats Aisha upon meeting her. It shows that Kamala need not worry about not being enough. Seeking to do good is enough to make her so.

What's The Significance Of Kamala's Broken Necklace?

Ms Marvel Episode 5 Kamala Khan Necklace Symbol

After Najma closes the veil, Muneeba and Sana arrive and see Kamala using her powers. After a quick exchange, Kamala runs off to say goodbye to Kimo and her mother identifies a broken necklace as belonging to Kamala. It was earlier shown that the necklace said her name in Arabic. The broken piece is reminiscent of Ms. Marvel's lightning-bolt symbol in the comics, giving Kamala yet another piece of her eventual costume. Kimo also gives her a red scarf at their parting, something else that is likely to be worked into her final look in Ms. Marvel episode 6.

Ms. Marvel episode 5 raises a lot of questions. How Kamran, the Department of Damage Control, Bruno, Kamala, and even Nakia will be worked into the final episode remains to be seen. If Ms. Marvel episode 6 doesn't tie up every loose end, audiences should get more answers in MCU properties — Kamala Khan is sure to return.
