Warning! SPOILERS for Ms. Marvel episode 3.
If a subtle hint in Ms. Marvel episode 3 is to be trusted, the MCU has a new Iron Man-level genius. Marvel has many heroes and villains with genius-level intellects such as Reed Richards and Doctor Doom. So far, the MCU has introduced many of them, including Bruce Banner, Hank Pym, and Tony Stark. Now, Phase 4 may have a new young genius.
In the MCU, Tony Stark's developed many Iron Man suits of armor, near-perfect AI systems, nanotechnology, and time travel. It would be an understatement to say these achievements are difficult to match. Hank Pym's Pym Particles comes close, and Doctor Strange's mastery over the mystic arts in record time deserves an honorable mention. The new generation of MCU "Galaxy Brain" prodigies may be even more impressive, with Shuri at the head of Wakanda's technological advancements and Peter Parker able to create cures for his multiversal villains with only his college resources and the help of his multiversal variants.
In Ms. Marvel episode 3, Kamala Khan asks her friend Bruno for help with interdimensional travel. Almost immediately, Bruno re reading a paper by astrophysicist and Avengers: Endgame, each in the span of one single night.
Bruno surely didn't pick up all the ins and outs of interdimensional travel, and he may not have gone beyond Erik Selvig's discoveries. Still, he understood the basics of a research area that, just like the mystery-ridden multiverse, was the matter of sci-fi until very recently within the MCU — so much so that Selvig himself was believed to be delirious for proposing it (although the aftermath of Loki's mind control certainly had a hand it that). Bruno learned about concepts like the energy required to travel between dimensions within one night, and he was confident enough about it to advise Kamala. Even within the MCU, this is quite an achievement for a young human teenager.
If interdimensional travel is something Bruno can begin to grasp so quickly, then there must be many more scientific feats he can accomplish with the appropriate training and resources. After instructing Kamala about the possibility of ing the Djinn's Noor dimension, he tells her that he's going to Caltech. This may take him away from the action, but it grants him the opportunity to become a renowned MCU scientist. It seems Ms. Marvel is not only the start of an exciting journey for Kamala Khan but also for her "guy in the chair."
