Warning: Contains SPOILERS for Murder Mystery 2!

Murder Mystery 2's kidnapper, Saira, is not revealed until the very end, but the movie included several clues along the way. The sequel to 2019's Murder Mystery brings Nick (Adam Sandler) and Audrey (Jennifer Aniston) back for another opportunity to solve a crime. After solving a murder before, Murder Mystery 2 turns Nick and Audrey's attention toward a kidnapping. The case begins when they attend the Maharajah's wedding and witness the groom being kidnapped. Their list of suspects includes those closest to the Maharajah (Adele Akhtar), ranging from his wife-to-be Claudette (Mélanie Laurent), ex-fiancee Countess Sekou (Jodie Turner-Smith), and more.

It is not until Murder Mystery 2's ending begins to wrap up that the movie confirms the kidnapper's identity by revealing two people were involved. The overall plan was put into effect by Maharajah's sister Saira (Kuhoo Verma), who thought that she should be the one to inherit the family wealth. Pulling off the kidnapping plot meant working with former MI6 agent Connor Miller (Mark Strong), who worked with a team of men to get the $70 million ransom. Due to how many people were considered suspects, the Murder Mystery 2 kidnapper identity twist could catch viewers by surprise. But, Murder Mystery 2 includes clues to the truth throughout.

7 Saira Did Not Have An Alibi For Murder Mystery 2's Kidnapping

One of the earliest clues about Murder Mystery 2's kidnapper identity comes when the actual kidnapping takes place. Maharajah is taken during a distraction at the wedding when the majority of the guests are shown to be dancing. Saira and Francisco (Enrique Arce) are the only characters introduced at that time who were not featured during the sequence. Saira only appeared after Audrey spots the supposed elephant trainer run backstage and burn their clothing. Those paying close attention could pick up on the fact that Saira does not have a solid alibi for the kidnapping and is one of two characters (or three counting Connor) who could have been involved.

6 Saira's Henna Dye Was On The Burned Clothes

Audrey and Saira talk at a wedding in Murder Mystery 2.

The burning green clothes that Audrey spots included another clue to Murder Mystery 2's kidnapper's identity through the red dye on the sleeve. The Adam Sandler movie introduces Saira by showing her getting a henna tattoo and being very careful not to let her arm touch something and smear the design. The disguise she burns includes this dye on the sleeve as she did mess up the tattoo in the process of her plan. Murder Mystery 2 does a good job of hiding Saira's arm from that point on so viewers cannot easily spot the smeared henna and piece together that this is what is on the kidnapper's burning clothes.

5 Saira Could Easily Steal Nick's Knife & Frame Him

The question of who stole Nick's knife to frame him also provides a Murder Mystery 2 kidnapper identity clue. Whoever took the knife and used it to try and frame Nick and Audrey must have had an easy way to access their room. Since Saira is Maharajah's sister, familiar with the island, and incredibly smart, it would make sense that she would easily be able to sneak into their room and steal Nick's knife. Most of the other suspects would not have been able to steal the knife in this fashion. While every guest knew exactly where Nick and Audrey's room was, Saira has the easiest way to get in.

4 Claudette Teased Saira's Motive In Murder Mystery 2

Claudette also provides a big clue that Saira is Murder Mystery 2's kidnapper in the aftermath of the Maharajah's disappearance. During the sequence where suspects keep coming to Nick and Audrey's room to implicate others in the kidnapping, a line of dialogue from Claudette mentions that Saira was always desperate for attention. This brief moment sets up part of Saira's motive for kidnapping her brother. She is tired of being overlooked, particularly when it comes to the family fortune, and enacts a plan that will finally give her the wealth and attention she thinks she deserves. It perfectly lines up with Claudette's proposed motive for Saira.

3 Connor Was Okay With Nick & Audrey Not Following Orders

For all the clues about Saira's plan to kidnap her brother, Adam Sandler's Murder Mystery 2 also includes clues about Connor's involvement. One moment that can be viewed as a piece of foreshadowing of the twist comes when the exchange for Maharajah is supposed to happen. Connor tells Nick and Audrey to follow his rules about this type of situation, which included not going to a secondary location. However, Connor is not upset when Nick and Audrey disobey the rule. The reason for this is that it was ultimately part of his plan to get the $70 million ransom for kidnapping Maharajah and getting away with it.

2 Connor Knew The News Footage Was Fake

Another clue to Murder Mystery 2's kidnapper's identity comes when Connor finally catches up with Nick and Audrey as news reports begin to circulate with fake footage. The news report shows Nick holding the knife that killed Maharajah's bodyguard, making it look like he was responsible for the kidnapping. Connor immediately tells Nick and Audrey that he knows the footage is fake. While this is initially viewed as another sign of how great Connor is at being a detective, the kidnapper identity reveal shows the truth. Connor knew the news footage was fake because it was part of his and Saira's plan.

1 Connor's Body Was Not Shown When He Died

Mark Strong's Conner Miller looks angry in tactical gear in Murder Mystery 2

Connor's faked death provided another Murder Mystery 2 kidnapper identity clue. The movie only shows what Nick and Audrey see of the event, which is just Connor's van exploding after he takes the money. The ending confirms that this was planned as he climbed into a protective case in the vehicle. However, viewers may have been able to catch onto the fact that Connor was one of Murder Mystery 2's kidnappers because of how his "death" happened. The movie does not show his body during the explosion or after he supposedly died. This means the movie follows the rule that if the body is not shown, that person is still alive.
