The sixth season of My Hero Academia is in full swing, and the greatest student heroes of Class 1-A are back in action against the villains of the world, alongside their Pro Hero teachers. As they each get more comfortable using their quirks, they are learning more about themselves and their friends along the way.
But one student has proven to already be more than proficient in the use of his quirk. Katsuki Bakugo, the Great Explosion Murder God Dynamight, is an extraordinary fighter and an even more dedicated hero. His shining position in the franchise and his general attitude has led to many fans making memes about Bakugo, and they all sum him up remarkably well.
Too Prideful
While some people seek out a position as a Pro Hero as a way to give back to the community, Bakugo decided to become a Pro Hero out of pride. He wanted to win and be better than everyone else around him. So when Deku gained ittance into UA, he was furious.
It certainly doesn't help that Midoriya gets endless praise at UA, while Bakugo tends to be the subject of the shadiest burns in My Hero Academia. Often forced to play second fiddle to Deku, Bakugo has taken to resenting just how much better Deku has become.
Very Little Patience
Where some characters are willing to wait for replies or to hesitate before charging into action, Bakugo has never been particularly patient. If anyone goes off script or delays him even slightly, he is known to throw screaming tantrums that leave other students either rolling their eyes or running for the hills.
Bakugo often tries to treat his fellow students fell, only to snap at the slightest provocation. It shows that Bakugo is trying, even if he tends to fail to actually improve himself in the long run. Still, the attempt alone should be acknowledged, given how much he has grown since his early days at UA.
Never Enjoys Challenges
While Bakugo has come to respect his classmates, he has never been one to enjoy being challenged by them. Whenever a classmate criticizes him or seemingly questions his abilities, Bakugo is sent into a rage in a desperate attempt to prove himself.
Given that Bakugo has a quirk with limitless potential, that can mean devastating blows to other students. Yet it also shows his secret sense of inferiority, as he desperately has to prove himself over and over again. Bakugo can never just accept the judgment of others. He needs to prove them wrong every time.
Typically Selfish
In the early days of Bakugo's time at UA, he was an incredibly selfish student. When the attention wasn't focused on him, he would be extremely upset, given how amazing his quirk and his willpower is. That often led to jealousy of Deku, who was also getting similar levels of attention with his powerful quirk.
While Bakugo does have a good reason not to care too much about Deku being in danger, given how close Deku has come to dying, that still doesn't mean he should overlook him like that. It shows his selfish nature and also just how much he truly hated Midoriya.
A Horrible Friend
As much as Deku liked to talk about his childhood with Bakugo, Bakugo was actually a horrible friend to Deku. As soon as he developed a quirk and Deku failed to, he was perfectly happy to completely bully the boy as much as possible. While they both ired All Might, he never really related to Deku.
Bakugo even bullied Deku before developing a quirk for himself. He even gave Midoriya the name "Deku" as a way to insult him. It showed just how cruel he was, even if Midoriya refused to accept that his childhood "friend" was actually little more than a bully.
Explosive In More Ways Than One
Bakugo has always been hot-tempered, but his power tends to explode even more than he does. With the ability to secrete an oil that he can ignite on command, Bakugo can cause massive explosions everywhere he goes — which his costume only enhances.
Bakugo's powers are a major part of his personality, and they made him one of the most powerful characters in My Hero Academia. Where other students have major drawbacks to their powers, Bakugo's always felt perfect, which is part of why he intimidated Midoriya.
Despises Deku
Bakugo tends to rage at Deku for no reason at all. If the boy happens to be in his way at all, he can find himself slipping into a rage of epic proportions that leaves other students to come to Deku's defense. To make matters worse, Deku rarely even defends himself.
But, like an angry seagull, Bakugo always launches himself at Midoriya anyway. With threats, insults, and orders, he frantically works to keep Midoriya down, and it never really works. It only ever manages to make things worse for him.
Always Creates His Own Problems
Most of Bakugo's problems in school or on the battlefield come about as a result of his own stubbornness. By isolating and bullying his fellow students, he struggled to make friends, and even managed to annoy his teachers whenever they tried to help him.
With Deku clearly trying to lend a hand, Bakugo could have had a much easier challenge against All Might if he and Deku had just worked together. Of course, since Bakugo is a tsundere, it does make sense that it would take him some time to get over his own fury in order to relate more closely to his fellow students.
Wants To Kill People
Some students ed UA in the hopes of getting to save lives and prove their worth as heroes. Bakugo, on the other hand, ed in the hope of glory. After all, villains were losers and heroes were winners, so Bakugo clearly needed to align himself with the heroes.
Yet, despite that, Bakugo tends to have more villainous desires. Often threatening to kill those around him, every word out of his mouth sounds evil — which is why the League of Villains even tried to recruit him. Yet, contrary to his reactions, he has the desire to do the right thing and often throws himself into the fray to save lives.
Hates Without A Reason
Without his quirk, Bakugo would be little more than an arrogant bully to Deku. With his powers, he was an outright threat to Midoriya's safety. After all, Bakugo has an incredibly strong quirk that can give him the ability to blast Midoriya into outer space.
It makes him incredibly dangerous, and it's why Eraser Head and All Might often struggle to keep him in line. While poor Midoriya has a good enough heart to try to get along with Bakugo, it's a constant struggle that just leads to him getting blasted.
