wild idea of becoming a hero, a display of bravery on Izuku's part would later lead to All Might taking him in under his wing. By ing down his quirk, One For All, All Might took a risk. Either Izuku would live up to the reputation of such a quirk, or he would fail as a hero. Chapter 304 adds a new important detail to the conversation - and it may just prove that All Might was correct in his selection.
Not too far into Izuku's hero journey, he was introduced to All Might's former sidekick, a part of the Big Three at the school. Some My Hero Academia fans saw the logic here as well. Honestly, it makes sense. Mirio is both a stellar student and an impressive hero with a unique quirk. On paper, he is everything the next number one hero should be - even if he itted he wouldn't want the quirk.
Chapter 304, titled Izuku Midoriya and Toshinori Yagi, brings to light a new aspect of One For All that finally settles the long-standing debate over who All Might should have chosen as his successor. This chapter brings Izuku face-to-face with the One For All s that came before him. The fourth , Hikage Shinomori, was believed to have died of "old age" when he was 40, but he reveals the truth to Izuku; One For All broke his body down, as having multiple quirks led him to an early death. This is the first time we find out that One For All shouldn't be given to someone with a quirk.
While a seemingly small detail that brings some sense of assurance to Izuku, it actually changes everything readers know about My Hero Academia that wouldn't be possible had All Might cursed Mirio with the quirk instead.
