Warning: spoilers ahead for My Hero Academia chapter 332!
The top American hero Star and Stripe in My Hero Academia just proved that she's fully capable of destroying All For One. The only problem is that she missed her chance and now she's in a predicament that puts her at the complete mercy of Japan's most ruthless villain.
Star and Stripe had a pretty good plan to take down All For One and everything was falling into place perfectly. She just didn't for All For One's resourcefulness. Using Star and Stripe then waits for American TIAMAT missiles fired at All For One to get close enough so her giant can grab and swirl them around in a circle to maximize the force of their impact and thrust them down at All For One like a punch.
The combined power of the missiles and the giant's added propulsion would have been enough to destroy All For One. But, unfortunately, the villain had been expecting a so-called "shift," so by the time Star and Stripe's air giant encases them in her fist and punches down at him, he takes advantage of the fact that he can leverage Tomura Shigaraki's Decay quirk to burrow safely under the ground. All For One later reveals how successful Star and Stripe's strategy could have been by itting that if he had delayed only a second, it would have been a fatal error. But by the chapter's end, All For One clearly has the upper hand, for that very hand is literally on Star and Stripe's face after lunging straight for her.
It's impossible for fans watching this battle unfold not to think back on how All Might took down All For One during their pivotal rematch just because both heroes either smash or punch All For One down into the ground. This then begs the question: would All For One have been able to avoid All Might's last-ditch effort with United States of Smash if he had Tomura Shigaraki's Decay quirk to burrow a hole for himself? All Might essentially grabbed the villain's head and then smashed him into the ground, just like how Star and Stripe just punched downward at All For One, creating a massive crater where he'd been standing. It's possible that directing Decay at the ground where All Might intended to thrust him would have minimized the impact and possibly allowed All For One to successfully walk away from the United States of Smash like he just did Star and Stripe's punch.
Both All Might and Star and Stripe's attacks are Hail Marys. All Might focuses the last embers of One For All into his right arm while Star and Stripe incorporates missiles into her punch that she couldn't just summon again. The major difference between both battles, however, is that All For One can only wield Shigaraki's Decay in one of them - and the one where he does allows him to avoid the hero's last ditch effort to take him out.
It's therefore logical to assume that Star and Stripe would have enjoyed the same victory as All Might did against the villain earlier on in My Hero Academia if All For One didn't have Shigaraki's Decay quirk at his disposal. But because of All For One's treachery and willingness to sacrifice his own apprentice, he will now likely be victorious against Star and Stripe, leaving it to My Hero Academia's other heroes to end his reign of terror.
