My Hero Academia's epilogue received an unexpected update this week, as My Hero Academia: Ultra Age: The Final Fan Book was released in Japan. The first installment of the My Hero Academia epilogue debuted on December 4, 2024, but this new release has proven that it was not the final ending after all.
Fan-favorite characters like Deku, Shoto Todoroki, Bakugo Katsuki, Shota Aizawa, All Might, and Eri all appeared in the Ultra Age: The Final Fan Book, which finally cleared up some of the uncertainties surrounding My Hero Academia's finale and the final fates of certain characters. After all the bloodshed and horrors these characters faced during the Final War against Tomura Shigaraki and All For One, it is a comfort to realize they all earned a relatively peaceful, happy ending after all the fighting.

In the pages of the book, it was revealed that he is ranked as the #4 Pro Hero and that, although he never regained his Quirk ability, he utilizes Items and armor to continue battling villains. This dual role as both a teacher and a hero is the ideal outcome for Deku, blending both of his ions seamlessly. Deku never had to relinquish his Pro Hero goal, but can also focus on ing on what he learned to others, just as All Might did for him at the beginning of his journey.

Deku is not the only My Hero Academia character with a favorable conclusion to his character arc though, Ultra Age: The Final Fan Book is teeming with happy endings all around, and all of them feel earned, believable, and ultimately satisfying. The epilogue announced that Bakugo Katsuki and Shoto Todoroki, two of the other top heroes in Class 1-A, are highly ranked in the Pro Hero rankings as well, with Bakugo placing at #5. Both of these students also dreamed of being Pro Heroes, and, thanks to their dedication and sacrifice, achieved their ambitions and made respectable names for themselves in Hero Society.

How My Hero Academia Took Deku and Bakugo From Enemies to Rivals

Another piece of fortunate news contained in the fan book is the confirmation that Bakugo grew in maturity and experienced a redemption arc, he humbled himself by apologizing to Deku, and their bond was strengthened to the point that they had each other's backs through any circumstance, even willingly facing harm to keep the other person safe.

The epilogue also showed that the majority of Japan's Pro Heroes made impressive strides in their careers and personal lives, such as All Might, for example. All Might is no longer the Symbol of Peace, but he is a valued member of U.A. High's faculty and was promoted to the position of vice principal. Shota Aizawa, Cementoss, and Present Mic are all still involved at U.A. High as well, continuing to positively impact their students' lives and equip them properly for the dangers they are bound to face fighting villains as a career.

"I Can't Do This" - My Hero Academia's Creator Had One Arc That Gave Him Serious Trouble
One My Hero Academia manga arc was more difficult for Kohei Horikoshi to write than the rest, due to its dark and intense subject matter.
One of the My Hero Academia characters who was confirmed by the epilogue to have one of the happiest endings in the entire series was Eri. It is immensely comforting to have The Shie Hassakai arc revealed Eri at the worst time in her life, due to Kai Chisaki's inhumanity towards her during her childhood. She was rescued by Deku, Mirio, and the Pro Heroes; their selfless rescue enabled her to live a much more joyous life in the future, surrounded by well-deserved love.

During the conversation, she mentions that she came to U.A. High to talk to Deku, but he unfortunately had already left for the day to pursue his hero work. She carries a guitar and the Pro Heroes ask her about her first performance, indicating that Eri has begun pursuing a new musical career and finally has the time and freedom to explore interests and hobbies away from Kai Chisaki's evil.
