A creative fan art sees multiple roles from actor Nathan Fillion come together. Fillion is a prolific actor, notable for his roles in TV shows such as Firefly and Castle. Currently, he portrays John Nolan on The Rookie, which was recently renewed for season 6.
Now, a piece of fan art from Nacho Fernandez Castro captures Fillion's most famous roles, from his younger years as Mel Reynolds in Firefly to his current role on The Rookie.
Castro's art also celebrates Fillion's roles as Richard Castle in Castle, Caleb in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Captain Hammer in Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, and Rainer Shine in Modern Family. Castro created the piece to celebrate Fillion's birthday, as the actor turned 52 in March.
Nathan Fillion's Prolific Acting Career Explained
Fillion's early roles included the soap opera One Life to Live and a ing role in the sitcom Two Guys and a Girl. While Fillion went on to have a small role in Steven Spielberg's Saving Private Ryan, he didn't rise to prominence until 2002, with his starring role as Mal in Firefly. While Firefly was cancelled after just 1 season, the series garnered a cult following, with Fillion reprising his role as Mal for the 2005 sequel film Serenity.
Fillion found more success as a leading man for television in Castle, where he played the eponymous mystery novelist assisting the NYPD on murder cases. He is currently starring in ABC's The Rookie, which sees his character John the police force as a rookie at the age of 45. Beyond TV, Fillion is known for voicing Hal Jordan in multiple DC animated films and once starred in an Uncharted fan film as Nathan Drake.
The many memorable roles Fillion has embodied over the years make him worthy of Castro's dedicated fan art chronicling his career. With recent film appearances in The Suicide Squad and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, it seems Fillion still has a lot of prominence in film and television. If Castro makes another piece of fan art dedicated to Nathan Fillion, there may be more memorable characters to add.
