October is a time for horror movies, but you may be scared by some of the films and TV shows leaving Netflix this month. Here's the must-watch content that's going to be leaving in the next 31 days.
Yes, it’s time to bid farewell to summertime and welcome the spookiest season of the year. It’s also time for a new crop of Netflix offerings, which this month includes an enviable stack: the streaming service will be debuting Daredevil season 3, The Haunting of Hill House, The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, and more.

Of course, that also means saying goodbye to a few classics as well, so fans of these flicks (and series) may want to cosy up with some Halloween candy and watch as many of them as possible before we bid farewell to everything from classics like Boogie Nights to newer offerings like Bridget Jones’ Baby.
15. Adventureland
This quirky comedy is the definition of a summer movie, so it seems fitting that Adventureland will be leaving Netflix this month - and it’s the perfect way to end the season and start looking forward to Fall. Starring Jesse Eisenberg, Ryan Reynolds and Kristen Stewart, it centers on the employees of an amusement park and their adventures on and off the clock.

14. Boogie Nights
This ‘90s classic is definitely worth a re-watch, if only for Mark Wahlberg’s performance as Dirk Diggler. Boogie Nights is a dive into the golden age of porn in the '70s, exploring the kind of parties, excesses, and lifestyles of the people in the industry. Definitely not one for the easily offended, but for lovers of subtle storytelling and brilliant performances this is totally worth a watch.

13. Bad Boys
Soak up some more classic 90s goodness with Bad Boys, starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence. Bad Boys is the perfect action cop comedy, as the coolest narcotics cops in Miami investigate some stolen heroin and try to protect a murder witness. The sequel, Bad Boys II, is not available to stream at all, so while there are no marathon options, you can still enjoy the original for a few days.

12. Cinderella Man
Russell Crowe and Renee Zellweger star in this sports biography drama about James Braddock, a boxer who made an incredible comeback in the 1930s. Cinderella Man was nominated for no less than three Oscars and won a host of other awards - and it’s easy to see why this gritty period piece did so well - it’s a fantastic inspirational watch for a fall day.

Fans of this unique ‘90s high school series will be sad to bid farewell to their favorite Everything Sucks for a similar vibe.

10. Sin City
Comic book fans who aren’t into the light, bright, and colorful offerings on the big screen will have to say goodbye to one of the ultimate dark and gritty adaptations this month, as Sin City leaves the streaming service - following the departure of Sin City: A Dame To Kill For, which left over the summer. Enjoy a last look at the black and white gore of Frank Miller’s world and get into the horror spirit with some impressively gory moments that never fail to turn the stomach.

9. The Lost Boys
‘80s vampire comedy? A young Kiefer Sutherland? It’s a shame that The Lost Boys isn’t going to be around for the month of October, because it’s a perfect pre-Halloween watch about comic book nerds who end up fighting a gang of local vampires in California. This eminently quotable cult classic deserves at least one more watch before it leaves the streaming service - even if there are plenty of other vampire offerings still available to stream.

8. The BFG
Last chance to take in this Roald Dahl adaptation of The BFG on family movie night, as this sweet story leaves Netflix at the start of the month. Although the 2016 fantasy adventure definitely sanitizes the original book a little bit, it features some beautiful scenes and incredible effects that make it a beautiful fantasy film for everyone to enjoy.

7. Kubo And The Two Strings
Another great film for the family to watch is Kubo And The Two Strings, an animated adventure set in feudal Japan. This fantasy film follows Kubo, a young boy and his animal friends, who must go in search of a magical suit of samurai armor and unravel the secrets of his missing eye and his magical guitar.

6. The Babadook
This brilliant horror flick from 2014 may not be sticking around on Netflix for Halloween, but it’s certainly around long enough to enjoy in the run-up to the spookiest day of the year… The Babadook plays on childhood fears about monsters under the bed, and has some truly scary moments as a family unravels the mystery of a scary book and a nightmare creature.
