Netflix premiered The Circle Brazil on March 11th, and it’s a great show for fans binge watch while they wait for another season of Netflix’s The Circle. The Circle USA and The Circle Brazil are close cousins of the original UK version. The Circle UK premiered in 2018 and has already had two really successful seasons. The Circle UK’s third season premieres a celebrity version in the summer of 2020.
Netflix’s version of The Circle premiered in January 2020 and was a very buzzed about reality show. It trended on social media all three weeks that Netflix released new episodes. The season ended with Joey Sasso becoming the first winner. Netflix has yet to officially cancel or renew The Circle, but chances are high that it’ll return next year with a new cast of competitors.
The Circle Brazil’s final four episodes air this Wednesday, so now is the best time to catch up and see this great addition to the Netflix reality family. For fans of Netflix’s The Circle, the Brazilian version hits all the right notes because it takes elements that made the original one great and enhances them.
It Consists of a Diverse Cast
Netflix’s The Circle had a diverse cast with varying sexualities, genders, and races. The Circle Brazil matches that series with even more diversity. The cast is a major melting pot of races, sexualities, and body types. It’s a very body positive series with Marina Gregory being a plus size girl who is not afraid to show her body and flirt with the boys. She’s also one of the most popular Circle . Then there is Raphel Dumaresq, who just goes by Dumaresq in the Circle, who is a very proud gay man who doesn’t shy away from his feminine side. It’s a very interesting and compelling cast of contestants.
It is More Competitive
The American Circle contestants formed a tight bond and were very united when it came to their experience. This is not the case with The Circle Brazil. Everyone wants to win and willing to play ruthless to get to that prize. In the second batch of episodes released by Netflix, there was a little controversy among the contestants when two players who barely spoke had to decide on who to eliminate. They both wanted to keep someone that they considered an ally. When it all came out about their decision and who was on what side, it started a ripple effect that really created a distrust among everyone.
The Catfishes Are More Interesting
The Circle Brazil takes the catfishing process to another level. In the first batch of episodes, twins Lucas and Marcel Blazute are introduced and they’re working together playing a girl named Luma (a combination of their names). The two are an interesting pair for their sometimes clashing ideas, but also determination to play the game hard. Joao Akel (also just goes by Akel in the game) is pretending to be a 30 year old doctor, but he’s only 20. Akel very much acts like a 20-year old while in his apartment, but somehow gets away with the lie. The Circle Brazil also seems to have a lot more catfish players than the American and UK one, and they seem to be getting away with it a lot better than their original counterparts.
It is Unpredictable
Joey became the clear winner towards the end of The Circle US, but there isn’t a clear winner emerging yet with The Circle Brazil. In the four episodes released on March 18, players who seemed like they had no chance of winning the game have now gained influencer power. At any moment, someone’s position in the game can shift.
All episodes of The Circle Brazil will be available on Netflix on March 25th.
