Georgia Miller gets most of the heat in Netflix's Ginny & Georgia because of the secrets she keeps and her undercover motives. However, Ginny isn't as innocent as she sometimes alludes. She hates how secretive her mother is but proves she's more similar to Georgia than she thinks.
As much as Ginny loves the friends she's made in Wellsbury, she keeps a lot of things from them. And while everyone's allowed to have some privacy, Ginny's actions only came back to bite her. Ginny deserved a fresh start in a new school and city but her unfamiliarity with friendships got her into trouble.
Good Friend: She Took Care Of Max On Halloween
Ginny and her group of friends (also called MANG) were excited for Halloween because they were all dres as Britney Spears. They would each dress as the pop princess from one of her iconic music videos. Max ended up doing a costume change in the middle of the Halloween party because she wanted to look cute for her crush, Sophie. However, after one too many drinks, Max ended up embarrassing both her and Sophie, causing Sophie to leave early. Max was devastated, and being drunk didn't help. Luckily for her, Ginny was there by her side to make sure she was okay.
Dropped The Ball: She Never Told Max About Marcus
Granted, Ginny met Marcus before she met Max. She wasn't aware that they were siblings let alone twins. However, once she found out they were twins, Ginny should have immediately told her that she had a crush on her brother.
This would have got the awkwardness out of the way. It would have also given Ginny some insight into how Max would feel about the situation. Instead, Ginny kept her secret relationship with Marcus on the down-low. When Max found out, she felt used and betrayed.
Good Friend: She Never Told Pa
Ginny learned about Marcus' relationship with Pa after she spontaneously kissed him. She didn't know the nature of their relationship but realized he was with someone already. But after Marcus and Ginny slept together, they made a pact to not tell anyone about what happened because he was with Pa and she was with Hunter. Ginny proved her friendship to Marcus by never telling anyone about them, although the cat got out of the bag eventually.
Dropped The Ball: She Dismissed Bracia
When Ginny first became friends with MAN, she felt lucky to have such a fun group of friends so quickly. But it wasn't just MAN who wanted to be friends with Ginny; a student named Bracia also introduced herself and invited Ginny to explore other things the school offered.
Ginny appreciated Bracia's invite but ultimately ignored her because of her happiness with MAN. Sadly, Ginny didn't realize that she was capable of having more than one friend. Bracia was an incredibly sweet person who had more in common with Ginny than Ginny realized. She should have given Bracia the time of day early on.
Good Friend: Her 16th Birthday Party
Ginny was beyond annoyed when her mom threw her a surprise birthday party. Ginny's issue was that she felt her mom swept everything under the rug to make birthdays special, which never resolved anything.
For Ginny's birthday, Georgia invited MAN over and to get manicures and facials. The girls had fun snacks, karaoke, and other relaxing things that any teenager would be lucky to have. While Ginny didn't love the party (because of her feud with her mom), it was a very sweet gesture for her friends.
Dropped The Ball: She Called Out Abby Instead Of Taking ability
When Max found out about Ginny and Marcus, she was heartbroken. She hated that Ginny kept this secret from her and couldn't trust her. Max told Ginny that she knew, and Ginny assumed it was Abby who squealed about the secret relationship. After all, Abby saw Ginny and Marcus nearly kiss in his bedroom. Alas, it wasn't Abby who told Max; Max found out by snooping through her brother's phone.
When Max learned that Abby knew about the secret relationship, she kicked both Ginny and Abby out of her life. Instead of taking ability for her secrets, Ginny called Abby out, which only ruined Abby's friendships.
Good Friend: ing Battle Of The Bands
When Ginny became friends with MAN, she also became friends with their group of guy friends. In this group of guys was Hunter, whom Ginny later dates. The group of guys got along with MANG perfectly and they typically hung out together on the weekends. A few of the guys were in their own band and planned on performing at Battle of the Bands.
Even though Ginny was already dating Hunter, she would have gone to Battle of the Bands regardless because she was friends with them. Whether they were in someone's basement watching movies or at a show, Ginny liked this group.
Dropped The Ball: She Lied About Her Virginity
While Max and Ginny were getting ready for a party, Max was so excited because she was thinking about losing her virginity to Sophie. Max assumed that Ginny would lose her virginity to Hunter on the same night and basically romanticized about two best friends losing their virginities on the same night.
But when Max found out that Ginny wasn't a virgin, she felt like a fool. Not to mention that Ginny lost her virginity to Max's brother, not Hunter.
Good Friend: She Didn't Tell Anyone About Abby's Problems At Home
When Ginny entered MAN, it was clear from the start that Abby wasn't thrilled with letting a newbie into their tight-knit group. It's been her, Norah, and Max for so long; she wasn't comfortable with someone new ing. However, Ginny fit right in. She tried to be friendlier with Abby but Abby wasn't always receptive.
When Ginny was at dinner with Hunter's parents, Hunter's mom let it slip that Abby's parents were getting a divorce. This was something Ginny never heard before. Instead of talking about it with the other girls, Ginny kept the sensitive information to herself.
Dropped The Ball: She Wasn't Concerned With Max's Breakup
When Max told Sophie that she loved her, Sophie froze. She realized that this wasn't a casual relationship for Max, so she broke up with her. Max was devastated. Sophie was her first real girlfriend.
Ginny was there by her side but she wasn't fully present. Her heart and her mind were stuck on Marcus and she kept slipping away to see him. Above all else, Ginny was friends with Max. To watch her ignore her pain was tough to watch.
