This weekend, platforms preparing to launch sometime this year. Until then, life at Netflix continues its course with a lot of content being added every week, both licensed and original.

Netflix’s catalogue was expanded last week with the sci-fi movie Freaks, the African movie All About Love, and the Thai comedy Tootsies & The Fake. The platform also welcomed Taylor Tomlinson’s comedy special Quarter-Life Crisis, season 3 of Spenser Confidential. When it comes to licensed content, this week won’t have many titles to choose from, with the coming-of-age rom-com Summer Night and the action crime thriller The Assignment.

As for original content, Netflix is taking a break from comedy and will instead focus on drama, with the third seasons of a teen drama series and another one directly from Spain, a drama movie from Ava DuVernay’s distribution company, and a drama mystery based on a book. From Ava DuVernay’s distribution company, Array, comes the drama movie Justine. Written and directed by Stephanie Turner, Justine stars Darby Stanchfield as Alison, a single mom forced to move in with her father-in-law after the death of her husband. She then takes a job as caretaker of Justine (Daisy Prescott), a young girl with a spina bifida living in a racist household. The two create a unique bond and help each other grow and change. Justine will be available to stream on Netflix US, Canada, UK, New Zealand, and Australia.

The Spanish thriller teen drama Elite is back with a third season on Netflix this weekend. Polo (Álvaro Rico) has returned to Las Encinas much to the surprise of everyone, but things will get dark and dangerous very quickly, as he will be this season’s victim – and judging by the trailer, Lu (Danna Paola) will be the one holding very important information about his murder. Nobody said life at Las Encinas was going to be easy.

Netflix's Lost Girls is a drama mystery movie directed by Liz Garbus and based on the book Lost Girls: An Unsolved American Mystery by Robert Kolker. It follows Mari Gilbert (Amy Ryan), who after the disappearance of her daughter and the incompetence of the police, starts her own investigation into the gated Long Island community where she was last seen. In the process, Mari’s investigation will shed light on a wave of unsolved murders of young female sex workers committed by the Long Island serial killer. Also starring are Thomasin McKenzie, Gabriel Byrne, and Oona Laurence.
