It's been seventeen years since this take on the classic fairy tales about princes and princesses hit the screen, and it's still just as magical today as it was in 2001. The animated story of a grumpy ogre, a princess with a secret, and a donkey voiced by Eddie Murphy is sure to charm kids and adults alike - with plenty of jokes that will have the grown-ups sniggering over something the little ones won't be old enough to get. Shrek has, of course, spawned an entire franchise since its release, but the original is still well worth a re-watch.
