Henry Cavill no longer playing Geralt of Rivia, season 4 will introduce Liam Hemsworth as the show’s title witcher.
In addition to that, The Witcher season 4 will once more see Ciri, Geralt, and Yennefer (Anya Chalotra) separated, but there are exciting (though some potentially controversial) stories coming up for them. Ciri, Geralt, and Yennefer will be ed by new characters in season 4, and one of them, thanks to his role in Nilfgaard, can replace a villain in the process of redemption, who happens to be his son.
The Witcher Season 4 Has Cast Cahir’s Father, Ceallach
Cahir’s Father Also Has Connections To The White Flame
According to Redanian Intelligence, The Witcher season 4 has cast Christopher Sciueref as Ceallach aep Gruffyd, who is none other than Cahir’s (Eamon Farren) father. Cahir's past hasn’t been explored in Netflix’s The Witcher so far, and his story was mostly focused on his work for the White Flame, but it took a turn in season 3. Thanks to that, season 4 is the perfect time to introduce his father, who also has strong connections to the Nilfgaardian Empire and the White Flame himself.

Witcher's White Flame Identity Explained: Who Emhyr Is & Why He Wants Ciri
The Witcher season 2 finally revealed who The White Flame is, and his story is tragic and disturbing, as is the reason why he wants Ciri.
Ceallach Dyffryn aep Gruffyd is the Lord of Darn Dyffra (located in Vicovaro, one of the southernmost vassal states in the Nilfgaardian Empire) and a seneschal at the court of Emperor Emhyr var Emreis. Ceallach married Mawr car Anahid, with whom he had six children: Aillil, Cahir, Dheran, and three daughters. Aillil was a soldier in the Nilfgaardian Arm who was killed during the suppression of the uprising in Nazair, and not much is known about the rest of Cahir’s siblings.
Cahir’s Father Can Take His Place As A Villain In The Witcher Season 4
Cahir Has Left A Villain Spot Open In The Witcher
Cahir has been part of Netflix’s The Witcher since season 1, where he served as one of the show’s main villains. Cahir’s loyalty to the White Flame and the Nilfgaardian Empire was such that it led him to commit a lot of horrific acts. However, Cahir is one of the few characters in The Witcher who has changed a lot since season 1, and through seasons 2 and 3, he fluctuated between a potential ally and an antagonist. After going after Ciri and pretty much making her life a living hell, Cahir’s redemption properly began in season 3.
After trying to regain the White Flame’s trust but the Emperor only using him to get rid of his enemies, Cahir realized during the Thanedd Coup that his actions and his mentality don’t align anymore. Cahir, as ordered by sca, went to find Ciri and he did, but instead of capturing her to take to the Emperor, Cahir refused to fight her and threw his sword to the side. Cahir came clean to Geralt and Ciri, telling the Cintran Princess he knew he couldn’t give her what he had taken from her.
Cahir told Ciri to run while he confronted the elves, and he wasn’t seen again after that.
To show he was being honest, he urged Ciri to kill him, but the arrival of the Scoia’tael stopped her. Cahir told Ciri to run while he confronted the elves, and he wasn’t seen again after that. Now, in the books, Ceallach tries to ask the White Flame for mercy for Cahir after he’s captured by Stefan Skellen and taken to the Emperor, who doesn’t listen to his request. However, Netflix’s The Witcher has made so many changes to the books that Ceallach could easily take Cahir’s spot as a loyal member of the Nilfgaardian court, thus having a more villainous role.
Cahir’s Problems With The White Flame Will Grow In The Witcher Season 4
Cahir’s Issues With Emhyr Have Only Begun
Cahir has gone from one of the White Flame’s most loyal knights to the one who let Ciri go in The Witcher season 3 – needless to say, he isn’t Emhyr’s favorite person at the moment. With Cahir going through his redemption, and following his story in the books, The Witcher season 4 is about to see Cahir ing Geralt, Jaskier (Joey Batey), and Milva’s (Meng’er Zhang) group, and he might be having dreams that will help them find Ciri.

Finally, The Witcher Can Give Cahir The Story He Deserves In Season 4
After the events of season 3, The Witcher season 4 can finally give Cahir the story he deserves, but it might not end well for him in season 5.
With Ceallach still part of the White Flame’s court, this will only make Cahir’s problems with the Emperor even bigger, and he might be about to face horrible consequences after his capture. Surely, it’s still possible that Ceallach will eventually help Cahir escape from a horrible punishment in Nilfgaard, but it’s hard to imagine him as anything other than a villain, at least at the beginning of his story. Cahir has his reasons for changing his mind, but Ceallach’s experience has been entirely different.
