Netflix's You is a smart and dark story about a lovelorn Dexter-character, Joe. Played to perfection by Penn Badgley of Dan Humphrey-Gossip Girl fame, Badgley cashes in on his ability to play the charming good guy. Then he turns the role on its head. Joe seems to be the non-threatening good guy, and there are times where he generally is good - especially when he's talking to neighbors like Paco. However, his good-guy image hides a seriously messed-up mind.

As his ex Candace once warned Love Quinn in Season 2, "If he loves you, that's the most dangerous thing." Throughout the two seasons, we've had many questions. While some have been answered in Season 2, such as Joe's early home life, other questions still haven't been answered. For a complex story with complex characters, there are sure to remain many mysteries.

Season 2: Will Beck's Book Be Made Into a Film?

Beck in You

With a healthy push from Candace, Forty decided that he needed to adapt Beck's book (from Season 1) into a film. He forced Joe into an aggressive writer's retreat in which neither one could leave until a full draft of the screenplay was written. Forty even hired a man to harm them if either one tried to leave. In a moment of genius, Forty actually figures out that Beck's boyfriend killed her. Of course, at this point, Forty doesn't realize that Will (Joe's new identity) is really the boyfriend.

That said, they were in the stages of finishing the screenplay. Forty had connections. Could it have been sent out before Forty died? If so, it may be hard for Joe to run from his past if it is up on the big screen.

Season 1: How is Paco Doing After Beck's Death?

Joe talking to Paco in Netflix's You

Paco contributed to Beck's death. Had he opened the door, Beck would have lived to write another day. Additionally, he saw Joe kill Ron, and Joe made Paco an accomplice in the murder. While Paco seemed like an innocent kid, all of Joe's lessons and secrets could manifest in Paco.

Paco could become a mini-Joe; it did seem like Joe was mentoring Paco in that direction. Or it could be that all of these secrets broke Paco. We don't know. If Paco isn't doing well, it would actually make Joe feel guilty. We'd be interested to see how that would play out.

Season 2: Did Love Kill Her First Husband?

This is a question that's on everyone's mind. We see Love's husband in flashbacks, and he has a serious illness. Some have suggested that Love poisoned him with her food, causing or contributing to that illness.

However, we think that Love could have killed him as a "mercy" kill. Whatever we may think about Love, the flashbacks and her difficulty to move on, do show that she really did love her first husband. A "mercy" kill would make sense to her.

Season 1: How Did Ethan and Friends React to Joe Leaving?

Ethan in his apron at the bookstore in YOU

Joe's world and ion was the bookstore in NYC. So, it would've seemed odd that he abandoned it and didn't keep in touch. While Ethan may have tried to rationalize the action, he would've had to take over managing the bookstore. Could he have found any hints as to what Joe did? Or would he have thought it strange that Joe left so soon after Beck's death?

In addition to Ethan, we have Beck's friends. While they weren't always the most critical thinkers, they did care for Beck and may think it strange that Joe left so soon after Beck's death. Beck's friends have a strong social media presence and connections. Could they have looked for and found Joe through those connections?

Season 2: Where is Joe's Mom?

Magda Apanowicz as Sandy Joe Goldberg's Mom Netflix YOU Season 2

In Season 2, we get Joe's backstory. He idolized his mom, and she protected him after he shot his father. He had shot his father in order to protect his mom and himself.

In Season 2, he thinks about his mother often, how he loved her, and how she left him. Some believe that the neighbor woman he sees at the end could be his mom. Either way, we hope to see her in the next season. It'd be interesting to see how their dynamic plays out.

Season 1: What Did Joe Do With His Box of Keepsakes?

Joe kept a box of keepsakes in the ceiling of his bathroom, which, unfortunately, Beck finds. In it, he has such things as Benji's teeth. What did he do to the box?

Did he leave it in the bookstore or his apartment? He could have brought it with him to L.A. or destroyed it. Regardless, he must have left some evidence behind in his haste to get far away from Candace.

Season 2: Is Candace Still Alive?

Now, it did seem that Candace was pretty dead at the end of the season, so this is a bit of our wishful thinking. However, in Season 1 Candace also seemed pretty dead. We'd love it if Candace somehow survived her latest attack.

After all, Candace is a survivor, and she could be the one to bring both Joe and Love Quinn down. In addition, we could actually see Joe teaming up with Candace in Season 3 in order to bring Love Quinn to justice.

Season 1: Was There Someone Before Candace?

Joe looking serious in You

While it seems like Candace was Joe's first love victim, we wonder if there was a victim before her. Joe has a seriously messed-up mind, and he is also someone who seems to follow patterns. This could lead us to believe that he has done or attempted something like this before.

When he goes to Mooney for help after Candace's "death," Mooney seems to be too calm with his advice. It could be that Mooney has helped him out before with a similar situation.

Season 2: Is Joe Going to Be Happy With Love Quinn?

Joe and Love in You Season Two

In many ways, Love Quinn appears to be the perfect woman for Joe. She sees all of Joe, even the part that he wants to hide, and she accepts him. However, we can already see that Joe is less interested in Love by the end of the season. He's thinking about the neighbor next door.

We could see him struggle with his nature, and we could see Love and Joe working together to carry out horrible deeds. How will his relationship with Love develop?

Season 1: Is Peach's Investigation Still Ongoing?

Peach talking to someone in You

Peach's family was old-money, a family of means, and they didn't think that Peach died by suicide. The investigator was suspicious of Joe, even before Beck died. However, after Beck's death, Joe must be an even bigger suspect. In Season 2, when Joe's tripping, we find out from his coworker that he was saying Peach was still mad at him. His coworker just believed that he was tripping and talking about the fruit; however, we know otherwise.

If Beck's book is made into a film, we could see the investigation go more in-depth. While Love's family has been able to get away with a lot due to the Quinn name and influence, Peach's family has even more power and influence. It could become a battle of the-haves between Peach and Love's families. Would all of the Quinn family protect Joe? They would protect their family name, and if Joe is family, that might extend to him. All in all, we don't think we have seen the end of Peach's influence yet.
