Never Have I Ever is co-created by Mindy Kaling and Lang Fisher. Debuting in 2020, it's loosely based on Kaling's childhood experiences in the Boston area and follows Maitreyi Ramakrishnan as the teenage Devi. Lee Rodriguez.

The teen drama, as a TV genre, is in a bit of an uncertain period. On broadcast, the CW is no longer primarily focused on teen dramas, though it does still feature some young adult series.
