Warning: Spoilers for Daredevil: Gang War #2!There are plenty of differences between Matt Murdock and Elektra's approach to being few exceptions to ever break it. As for Elektra, it's a little harder for her to warm up to the idea of never killing again thanks to her time as an assassin.

However, Elektra may finally be willing to genuinely adhere to her forever lover's no-kill rule, beginning in Daredevil: Gang War #2 by Erica Schultz, Sergio Davila, Sean Parsons, Ceci De La Cruz, and VC's Clayton Cowles. It was just in the previous issue that Elektra complained about keeping her promise to Matt that she would live by his no-kill rule while under the Daredevil mask.

Now, though, she is willing to prioritize other lives as opposed to being hyper-fixated on the mission. Perhaps the cowl is starting to turn her into the hero she's destined to be.

The New Daredevil is Warming Up to The Original's No-Kill Rule

Elektra Daredevil vs Bellona

With Matt away focusing on his new life "Gang War" between rival factions, she's one of the heroes on the scene to cool the fires. As she investigates the Heat in Hell's Kitchen, she spends the miniseries' first issue speaking in ing about abiding by Matt's no-kill rule as if it's a burden. She gives the impression that she wouldn't abide by it if she didn't care for Matt or his rules.

Interestingly enough, just one issue later, Daredevil conveys a different tone about the original's biggest rule. During a warehouse bust, she finds herself tangling toe-to-toe with Wolverine's forgotten "daughter," Bellona, who is now working for Madame Masque. Elektra knows how dangerous she is, even noting that she reminds her of herself back when she used to kill. The fight gets intense, and Elektra could get the drop on Bellona if not for the fact that she is distracted by having to save the sniveling Scarfe and of the Heat before the building collapses.

The New Daredevil is Learning to Love Matt Murdock's Code

Elektra Daredevil vs Bellona feat Scarfe

This issue highlights the kind of influence that Matt has had on Elektra as a partner in crimefighting. She makes it clear in the first issue that she only adheres to his code more out of respect for him than moral obligation, but in this issue, it seems she's genuinely learning to adopt the code because she actually wants to. And it's not even just about the no-kill rule; she actually is concerned about saving lives (even the lives of criminals) to the point it stops her from stopping Bellona.

One can even say that if not for Elektra's hesitance towards the no-kill rule, she may be able to stop Bellona or end this fight sooner than it actually goes on. Instead, she does something that Matt would do and that's prioritize saving lives rather than ending one. While Elektra's run as Daredevil has been impressive, she is on her way to genuinely becoming an even better hero who detests killing as much as Matt Murdock does.
