Through the Tom Holland's Spider-Man 4 being the only Marvel Studios movie that is confirmed to be released between the next two Avengers films — at least so far.

Beyond Spider-Man 4, which will be released in 2026, Holland's Peter Parker is also expected to appear in Avengers: Doomsday in that same year, and 2027's Avengers: Secret Wars. Many believe that Spider-Man 4 could be the start of a new MCU trilogy for the actor, and that seems to be the case after his latest comments. In October, 2025's new Spider-Man could help make his Peter different.

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Can Be Marvel’s Classic Spider-Man

Revealed Details From The Series Make That Very Clear

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man will bring along a classic high-school setting for its Peter Parker story, returning to a younger version of the character. So far, every new piece of footage from the Marvel Studios animated series, which will premiere on January 29, 2025, on Disney+, has pointed to a lighter, comedic, coming-of-age tale for Spider-Man. The animated series will follow a Spider-Man who is just starting as a hero, with footage already revealing that he has a very different origin from Tom Holland's Spider-Man.

While how Holland's Peter Parker came to be Spider-Man was not shown, it is assumed that Peter's classic backstory is also his. However, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man will see Peter become Spider-Man after Doctor Strange fights with a monster, and a spider falls from a portal, biting Peter and giving him powers. The new Spider-Man series is shaping up to have a classic feel to it, down to the character design and animation being inspired by Spider-Man's early Marvel Comics days, while also adding exciting elements to keep it fresh. This frees Holland's Spider-Man to walk a different path.

Spider-Man: No Way Home Set Up More Mature Peter Parker Stories

Tom Holland's Spider-Man 4 Could Be Quite Dark

With Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man focusing on classic high-school adventures for Spidey, Tom Holland's version of Peter Parker could have more mature stories from now on, ensuring every type of Marvel fan gets their fill when it comes to Spider-Man. Peter was studying to graduate high school at the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home, so his next MCU trilogy could change the setting to college, which is where he met Gwen Stacy and Harry Osborn in the comics.

After Deadpool & Wolverine, There's Only 3 MCU Movies I Think Can Earn Over $1 Billion

Reaching $1 billion, like Deadpool & Wolverine, will be a tough act for future MCU movies, but some films have a great chance of being successful.

After a heavier movie like Spider-Man: No Way Home nearly broke $2 billion, it seems like that direction is the best one for the MCU's Peter Parker. The movie sets up Peter to be all alone in Spider-Man 4, as Aunt May is dead, and the world forgets who he is due to Doctor Strange's spell. That sets up a darker story for the character, and with a piece of the Venom symbiote now in the MCU, plus Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom having Tony Stark's face, Peter is in for a ride. Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man can balance that.
