As with the opening act of any long-term story, the early issues of Power Rangers Prime have largely been devoted to maneuvering pieces into place and offering the reader exposition on the new context the origin story of the Rangers is taking place within. That isn't to say the first four issues of Prime haven't been without drama and intrigue, but by design, they have adopted a slow-burn approach. The upside of that has been that it stoked fans' anticipation for their first look at the rebooted Power Rangers in action, and Prime #5 finally delivers.

This full-team appearance in Prime #5 comes at the perfect time. It is made worth the wait by artist Michael YG's exciting innovations to the classic Rangers look.

That said, now that the team has been fully unveiled, readers will be looking for Prime to take things up a notch, which means more action, but also more adversity for the team; given that the advanced synopsis for Prime #7 says this squad "still have a long way to go before they’re a real team" it is clear that is exactly what is coming. Power Rangers Prime will continue to escalate over the course of its early arcs, and the build-up to the team's first battle will quickly be forgotten as they test themselves in combat time and again.
