A BRAND-NEW DAY FOR SPIDER-GWEN! Gwen Stacy isn’t from this Earth but she’s here to stay, so it’s time to make herself at home! A new costume, a new home life - heck, she’s even starting a new band! Unfortunately for Gwen, new threats are also heading her way, starting with one that just might be her own fault! Follow the Ghost-Spider as she settles into Earth-616 to stay!

While fans don't know what new powers Gwen Stacy will have, they do have a great look at the new costume. The new costume is black and pink with a white cowl and coat, with cyan piping and a loose utility belt. These are Gwen's traditional colors, but with a new focus on a black base suit. Paolo Villanelli's main cover again shows Gwen Stacy's new look, while Nogi San's variant cover below shows the suit in action on the New York streets.

'Brand New Day' was an era of Spider-Man comics starting in 2008, establishing a whole new status quo for Spider-Man after his secret identity was wiped from human memory. Marvel using the phrase here suggests a total reinvention for Gwen.

Gwen Stacy's Cosmic Adventures Mean Anything Is Possible

After leaving her home reality, Spider-Gwen found herself bonded with a Cosmic Cube, gaining the power to rewrite reality. She was then recruited by the villainous King Loki (an evil future version of the Asgardian god) who has been guiding her from one site of great suffering to the next, trying to persuade Gwen that reality has to be forcibly changed. Thanks to a pep talk from Jean Grey's Phoenix, Gwen was able to stop fearing her potential with the Cosmic Cube and finally embrace it, unlocking limitless potential.

With the omnipotent power of the Cosmic Cube at her fingertips, Gwen could change her powers in any way she sees fit (though she'll likely stay spider-themed.) She may even choose to fully transplant her history and backstory to Earth-616, as once happened to Miles Morales.

However Spider-Gwen's reinvention happens, Marvel promises new friends, a new home and social life, and even a new band, with Gwen having left her original band the Mary Janes back in Earth-65. A breakout character, Spider-Gwen's permanent move to Earth-616 is a tribute to her popularity with fans, and Marvel is making a big deal of her new 'main reality' status with a flashy reinvention, coming later this year.

All-New Spider-Gwen: The Ghost-Spider #1 is coming August 20 from Marvel Comics.
