newly acquired territory. PvP is a major part of New World that can either take place in open-world gameplay or, in the case of Wars and Outpost Rush, can be scheduled. The best PvP builds will depend on the role players choose to take on, such as a Tank, DPS, Healer, and more.
One of the most unique features of New World is that all weapons in the game have their own leveling and perk system that define the roles of the player characters, rather than forcing a player to choose a class outright. This feature allows everyone to play around with different weapons and builds to find out where they are most comfortable playing. Additionally, there are three different kinds of weapons, namely melee, ranged, and mana-based. The best PvP builds take advantage of these weapons' strengths and emphasize those roles.
Each build consists of two New World, with heavy, medium, or light armor to match. Light armor provides the largest boost to DPS and the best dodging ability, but its light resistance to damage makes it difficult for crowd control. Heavy armor is the exact opposite, with poor DPS and dodging capability, but high damage resistance and great crowd control benefits. Medium armor offers a good mix between both other types, with a higher DPS than Heavy Armor and better crowd control than Light armor.
New World Best PvP Builds
These are the best PvP builds in New World:
Ranged DPS
- Light Armor
- Attributes: Dexterity and Constitution
- Bow (Skirmisher Tree Evade Shot and Poison Shot Abilities, Hunter Tree Splinter Shot Ability)
- Spear (Zoner Tree Javelin and Cyclone Abilities, Impaler Tree Vault Kick Ability)
The New World Ranged DPS build's only purpose is to deal damage at a distance and keep enemies from getting too close. The Bow requires ammunition, so players with this build will need to be sure to bring plenty of arrows.
DPS Axer
- Light Armor
- Attributes: Strength and Constitution
- Hatchet (Berserker Tree Abilities)
- Great Axe (Reaper Tree Reap and Charge Abilities, Mauler Tree Gravity Well)
This New World class setup is meant for close-quarters combat and is particularly effective at one-on-one combat and hit-and-run tactics. The DPS Axer build is responsible for high damaging attacks and mobility.
Tank/Healer
- Heavy Armor
- Attributes: Focus and Constitution
- Sword and Shield (Shield Tree Abilities)
- Life Staff (Healer Tree Sacred Ground Ability, Protector Tree Beacon and Light's Embrace Abilities)
This class is set up perfectly for those who wish to play a New World. The Tank/Healer is responsible for crowd control and healing teammates on the frontline.
Mana DPS
- Light Armor
- Attributes: Intelligence and Constitution
- Fire Staff (Fire Mage Tree Pillar of Fire and Fire Ball Abilities, Pyromancer Tree Burnout Ability)
- Ice Gauntlet (Ice Tempest Wind Chill Ability, Builder Tree Ice Pylon and Entombed Abilities)
Like the DPS Axer build, the Mana DPS build is best designed for one-on-one combat, with a little more utility for crowd control in New World. Mana DPS characters should be sure to bring plenty of health and mana potions along with this build.
Mixed
- Medium Armor
- Attributes: Intelligence and Consitution
- Hatchet (Throwing Tree Abilities)
- Ice Gauntlet (Ice Tempest Tree Abilities)
The Mixed build is a more complicated set-up to make use of in New World, requiring more inventory space for mana recovery potions. While it does well against Light Armor s in one-on-one situations, this build excels in ing allies who are attacking targets directly, as well as countering enemy momentum. The Mixed build requires great mana control while moving from fight to fight and assisting allies.
