has garnered huge player counts since its release, but with some such hiccups along the way.

Fishing in New World requires patience, and acquiring rare fish can be a time-consuming task. Different fishing spots have different spawn rates, and bots appear to congregate in zones where they can hook the rarest - and therefore most profitable - catches. They're often noticeable by the way they cast their rods and retract them every few seconds until they pull in New World's rarest fish or treasure chests.

Reddit  animals to clear NPCs out from New World, but they are among the first to use the tactic to try and turn the developer's attention to the problem.

Even with good intentions, this strategy has its drawbacks. Foremost among them is the chance that players trying to attack could unintentionally target real characters. Some players have posted about having quiet fishing sessions interrupted by sudden animal attacks. Occasionally this can even be a method to get around the game's PvP system and kill players who have PvP turned off. Bots in New World might be an issue, but the existing solution might be a bit problematic as well.

The ideal way to solve the bot problem would be for Amazon to step in and ban them. But any automated bans must be handled carefully, especially since there have already been instances of New World. Until an official policy is developed to target bots without banning innocent players, it appears that killing them is the only way to be able to fish in relative peace.
