The incredibly diverse body of work he has proves that Nicolas Cage is a talented actor. Fans tend to forget about all of the beautiful movies he has done because of the massive number of so-called average movies he does in between them. The actor is an Oscar winner, after all.

Cage was born Nicolas Kim Coppola, but he changed it himself to Cage after Luke Cage—also because he wanted to succeed on his own merits without the privilege the Coppola name might have afforded him in Hollywood. While making a name for himself, he amassed a huge cast of different characters. Cage rarely plays the same type of role twice, making all of his characters have incredibly different personalities that line up very well with the different traits exhibited by the zodiac signs.

Updated May 2nd, 2022 by Amanda Bruce: Born in early January, Cage himself is a Capricorn. His Capricorn traits come through in his ambitious drive to make his career his own and the hard work he exhibits in all of his roles. When he plays a dramatized version of himself in The Unbearable Weight Of Massive Talent, those Capricorn traits are on full display. Cage, however, is great at transforming himself to embody all of the zodiac signs.

Aries: Benjamin Gates (National Treasure) and Peter Loew (Vampire Kiss)

If fans are an Aries, they are very much like Benjamin Gates From National Treasure. Cage plays a famous historian and a treasure hunter. Gates, his girlfriend, and his loyal sidekick have discovered a lost treasure full of precious jewels, gems, metals, and artifacts that were hidden by the freemasons during the American Revolutionary War. Gates is charming, ionate, a born leader, and a problem solver, much like a majority of Aries. He also tends to jump into situations before everyone else realizes his plan, a sure Aries trait.

Likewise, Peter Loew of Vampire Kiss is another good example of one of Cage's Aries characters. He and Gates are very different, but they're both driven by their ions. Loew sees himself as the most important person at his job, and he wants everyone else around him to care as much about the work as he does.

Taurus: Cameron Poe (Con Air)

Con Air revolves around a wrongly-convicted prisoner, Cameron Poe, who is to be released and hence taken on a flying prison transport along with other engers when a troop of criminals hijacks the plane.

Poe demonstrates a tribute to all Taurus by answering questions with questions. He is stubborn, sarcastic, and flaunts awesome action moves. He is a man of minimum words and maximum action. Many Cage fans consider Poe to be one of his best characters ever played.

Gemini: Ronny Cammareri (Moonstruck)

A romantic, ionate and very handsome man, Ronny from Moonstruck is an ideal Gemini. If someone is a Gemini, they can be rebellious, moody, clever, honest, and an amazing person. They are charming enough to make friends with anyone. They get happy at little things, but they can also get mad at little things.

Many Geminis, much like Ronny, can overthink different situations as well.

Cancer: Stanley Goodspeed (The Rock)

The brilliant movie Cage plays the genius Biochemist Goodspeed, who works for the FBI.

Just like Stanley Goodspeed, people born under the Cancer sign like to keep their head down and underplay themselves, but they often emerge as superheroes when the situation demands it because they are incredibly caring individuals who don't want to see others hurt.

Leo: Sailor Ripley (Wild At Heart)

Black comedy Wild At Heart features Cage as a wild and free-spirited Sailor Ripley. He is a burglar and manslaughterer by his own ission, but he does not back down. He fights back for his dreams, and, deep in his heart, harbors a positive spirit that cannot be broken.

Virgo: Seth (City Of Angels) and Edward Malus (The Wicker Man)

The iconic romantic tragedy City Of Angels is a tale spun around heartthrob Seth, who is, quite literally, an angel. He has been watching people on the Earth experiencing happiness, sorrow, life, death, and, most of all, people falling in love. Seth wants to fall in love, too, and his dream comes true when he discovers a beautiful Doctor Maggie Rice. Just like Seth, the Virgos are kind, honest, and dreamy. When they love someone, it's for life. Virgos commit and they rarely deviate from their plans. When Seth does deviate from his plan, it brings him an epic romance.

Of course, Virgos also jump into action because they're the ones in the zodiac who tend to take care of everyone around them. That's just what Cage's Wicker Man character Edward Malus does when his daughter goes missing. He leads an investigation himself, putting together the pieces as any Virgo gathering evidence would.

Libra: Ricky Santoro

Like all Librans, Ricky Santoro is a curious mixture of good and evil. The mystery movie Snake Eyes has Cage as Ricky in the lead role of a corrupt cop who does what he does for his luxurious lifestyle. He is not an ideal man, per se, but he doesn’t fall very far from the law either.

Ricky is someone the audience knows isn't a good guy, but whom they still root for because they can see he's also not a bad guy. He's got that Libra balancing act going on. Libras are often known for a commitment to justice, but they're also the kind of people who can see all of the gray areas when others operate in black and white .

Scorpio: Balthazar Blake (The Sorcerer's Apprentice)

Balthazar Blake from The Sorcerer's Apprentice is a powerful wizard. He was previously a student of the most powerful wizard ever, Merlin, and he inherited all the magical powers from his mentor.

Sagittarius: Sean Archer/Castor Troy (Face/Off)

Nicolas Cage in Face Off (1997)

Castor Troy from Face/Off is a total sleazeball; unpleasant, goofy, and borderline psychotic. Cage also plays a convincing Sean Archer, who is dedicated, sincere, and likable. Sean gets plastic surgery and impersonates Castor Troy, the murderer of his son. The wild ride which features multiple Cage roles portrays the obvious characteristics of Sagittarius.

A Sagittarius likely fearless, self-dependent, and courageous. They love adventure and pushing boundaries, always on the hunt for the next thing to satisfy the feeling of freedom they crave.

Capricorn: Damon McCready/Big Daddy (Kick-Ass) and H. I. McDunnough (Raising Arizona)

The Kick Ass. He's completely committed to training both himself and his daughter to be vigilantes. The strong work ethic bonds them even further as well, and Capricorns are also very attached to their family - whether by choice or by blood.

It's that attachment to family that H. I. McDunnough demonstrates well in Raising Arizona. He and his wife want a family but are unable to have children. He ends up making an incredibly complicated plan to steal a child to make their dream come true. The plan is ambitious and well thought out, just as a Capricorn would do, but nothing goes the way it should, of course.

Aquarius: Randall Memphis Raines (Gone In 60 Seconds)

Aquarians can seem unpredictable and detached, but they are willing to go to extreme lengths for those they care about. They are highly energetic, deeply intellectual, and intelligent people. Gone In 60 Seconds lead Memphis Raines is a great example of an Aquarius. Not only is he a legendary automobile thief, but he can also identify cars by their sound alone. He is an excellent driver, too.

Those born under the Aquarius sign are intelligent, and they love and hate with equal intensity, much like Cage's character does in this film. They don't take the easy way out, like Raines deciding boosting cars is his calling.

Pisces: Doug Chesnick (Guarding Tess)

Nic Cage in black and white in a coat and sunglasses for Guarding Tess

Secret Agent Doug from Guarding Tess is a perfect Pisces. He is angelic, tender, empathetic, and emotional.

Pisces are generous and comionate; they are mostly fantasy-driven and spiritual. In addition to all these, Pisces have a wild side, too. In the movie, Doug has been assigned the job of guarding stubborn Tess Carlisle, the former first lady, and he manages to be the kind of Pisces who could get lost in his own head while still doing one of the hardest jobs he would ever have.
