The first official glimpse at Spider-Noir is set to release in 2026, the same year the MCU's Spider-Man: Brand New Day will hit theaters.
Spider-Noir will follow Nicolas Cage's titular hero, who's a different version of the Spider-Man variant Cage voices in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Spider-Man Noir fights crime in a universe where the wall-crawler's adventures and related characters are alive during the Great Depression, and thus his stories take a "noir" direction. Noir movies and comic books are known for their gritty aesthetics, urban settings, cynical themes, and their hard-boiled anti-heroes. Similarly to the Spider-Man Noir comics its inspired by, Spider-Noir will translate these qualities to the small screen.
The First Look At Nicolas Cage's Spider-Man Noir Show Was Revealed
Spider-Noir's First Footage Reveal Establishes The Tone Of The Series
In May 2025, Spider-Noir's first teaser features a brief glimpse at the titular hero's origin story, which might be similar to that of the regular Peter Parker. Nicolas Cage's Spider-Noir is shown shrouded in darkness, seemingly reacting to the spider bite that gives him his powers. A couple of other characters are shown from behind, though their identity is yet to be confirmed. The Spider-Noir teaser doesn't reveal who the series' main antagonist will be, but it features a gunman getting beat up by Spider-Noir, who weaponizes the shadows around him and sneaks up on his target. Check out the first official Spider-Noir teaser and image below:
Spider-Noir's adaptation of Spider-Man Noir's costume is almost identical to the source material, down to the hat and the glowing goggles. In the comics, Earth-90214's Peter Parker is bitten by a spider hidden inside a stolen artifact, which happens to be a "Spider Idol". Spider-Man Noir's origin story is also tied to his version of Norman Osborn a.k.a. the Green Goblin, who sent the Vulture to murder Ben Parker. The Spider-Noir teaser suggests the series will revisit Peter Parker's origin story in the Noir universe, meaning villains such as Green Goblin and Vulture could appear.
Spider-Noir Looks Similar To The Sin City Movie
Spider-Noir Will Be A Noir Comic Book Brought To Life
Whereas regular comic book adaptations translate their source material to a traditional cinematic language, Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller's Sin City and its sequel, Sin City: A Dame To Kill For, keep the comic book language almost intact when depicting it in live-action. Unrealistic architecture, exaggerated lighting, and cartoonish character designs are present both in the Sin City graphic novels and their respective movie adaptations. Sin City's black-and-white cinematography is also distinctive due to its high contrast and dynamic composition.

Nicolas Cage's Live-Action Spider-Man Breaks A 47 Year Old Spider-Man Casting Tradition
Nicolas Cage's Spider-Man Noir series breaks a record with its new Spidey, who will be very different from previous live-action wall-crawlers.
Spider-Noir's first teaser features the same high-contrast, highly-dynamic, black-and-white cinematography seen in Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller's Sin City movies. The shot where a character walks across an alley looks ripped right off a Sin City movie due to its dramatic lighting that creates long shadows and its skewed composition. While not as exaggerated, Spider-Man Noir's comic book appearances feature a similar aesthetic. Spider-Noir's make-up, costumes, and sets will likely follow the same visual style.
Why I'm Now Even More Excited For Spider-Noir
Spider-Noir Is A Unique Take On Spider-Man And The Film Medium
The comic book movie genre has grown exponentially in the past twenty years, and several Spider-Man adaptations have presented their own interpretation on the wall-crawler. Sixteen years after Sam Raimi's Spider-Man turned Spidey into a blockbuster star, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse showcased an unprecedented take on Spider-Man with a mash-up of dozens of different animation styles. A few years later, Spider-Noir introduces yet another live-action Spider-Man adaptation that showcases a visual style unlike any other.

New Spider-Man Live-Action Project Is Finally Telling The Story I've Been Wanting For 30 Years
Spider-Man has a long and fruitful history in movies and TV, but his newly announced TV show will finally explore my favorite side of the character.
Sin City broke boundaries twenty years before Spider-Noir. However, only its sequel, Sin City: A Dame To Kill For, revisited its style nine years later. Since then, no other comic book adaptation has attempted to achieve something similar, except for Spider-Noir. Spider-Noir is bound to stand out from all other Spider-Man adaptations, even during a golden age of Marvel adaptations that include bold offerings like the Spider-Verse movies and Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. Spider-Noir's success could encourage more alternate takes on famous characters like Spider-Man.
