Nintendo confirmed that this financial year will see the announcement of the some point in September 2024. However, new rumors from a reliable leaker suggest a different, albeit more underwhelming, console could be released instead.
According to Dealabs' billbil-kun, a new Switch OLED bundle featuring Super Mario Bros. Wonder will be released instead. If this is Nintendo's next announcement, this will understandably be disappointing for those eager to learn more about the next console after so many years of rumors, especially as there doesn't seem to be anything new to this bundle.
It should be noted that billbil-kun is often extremely accurate in their leaks and reports, and currently holds a very good track record with announcing the PlayStation Plus subscription's latest monthly games in advance, meaning that this Nintendo Switch bundle claim is extremely likely.
What's Included In The Rumored Switch OLED Bundle?
There's Nothing Really New On Offer
For those who already own a Nintendo Switch OLED and Super Mario Bros. Wonder, there's nothing really to get excited about here. The reported bundle will contain the base model of the Nintendo Switch OLED in white, rather than any new dedicated design like the one recently seen for Tears of the Kingdom, as well as a digital code for Super Mario Bros. Wonder, and a 3-month Nintendo Switch Online hip, which can be used for online multiplayer and accessing some select titles from past consoles that have been ported over to the Switch.
Super Mario Bros. Wonder was extremely well received upon its release, with a 91 critic average on OpenCritic, and a 92 metascore on Metacritic, with a similar 9.1 score. Screen Rant's own review rewarded it 4.5/5 stars.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder Review: "Mario's Most Magical Adventure"
Super Mario Bros. Wonder releases on Nintendo Switch this month, and for players young and old it's nothing but a delightful experience.
According to the Dealabs article, this bundle will be sold in the European region for €349 with a potential release date of either September 23 or October 3, 2024. North America will reportedly also get a new Switch OLED bundle at some point, although it's unclear if this is the same one.
Therefore, for those in Europe who have yet to purchase a Nintendo Switch or want to an OLED and don't own the acclaimed Super Mario Bros. Wonder, it's a relatively good deal. However, with the Nintendo Switch 2 - or whatever its name will ultimately be - due to release some time in the near future, and reportedly being backward compatible with this current generation of games, hopefully Nintendo will reveal some concrete details soon, so players can decide whether to wait a bit longer for it instead.
