The Nintendo Switch 2 finally has a launch date, revealed during today's Nintendo Direct presenation. The highly anticipated console followup to the successful original Switch console is coming much sooner than expected. The console will be released in just two months, coming just in time for the beginning of summer.
The official release date of the Nintendo Switch 2 is June 5, beating many anticipated leaks and predictions. The Nintendo Switch 2 release date was revealed during the April 2 Nintendo Direct streamed on the official price of the console to be $449.99.

Two Options Available At Launch
In the months leading up to the first official look at the Nintendo Switch 2, leaks and rumors floated around on the internet about the console. Fans were especially ready to speculate about the release date of the console, which was "leaked" to be coming as soon as the last holiday season (which, obviously, did not happen). The console now finally has an official release date, and it turns out that it'll be hitting stores much sooner than anyone had anticipated.

Mario Kart 9 Is Actually Mario Kart World, Launching Exclusively On Nintendo Switch 2
Mario Kart World will feature a world of new courses and 24 racers per race and it will debut on the Nintendo Switch 2 as a day 1 release.
Two versions of the Nintendo Switch 2 will be available at launch. The console-only version will cost $449.99 and include the Nintendo Switch console as well as the left and right Joy-Con 2 controllers, a charging dock, and all the necessary chargers and other hardware needed to play. The Nintendo Switch 2 Mario Kart World bundle will be a bit more expensive at $499.99 and will also include a digital copy of the launch title, which is a new entry in the Mario Kart franchise.

When the Nintendo Switch 2 arrives on June 5, it will be accompanied by a hefty list of 54 Switch titles. The console will include a great selection of launch titles like Switch 2 editions of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, Hogwarts Legacy, Cyberpunk 2077, and more beloved franchises.
After launch, Nintendo plans to FromSoftware's title The Duskbloods.
Nintendo has several additional streams planned for the next few days, which will give fans more information about the coming Nintendo Switch 2 console and the games it will feature when it arrives on June 5 this year. After all the hype that's built around the console, it looks like Nintendo will deliver, with an exciting launch and a new console for fans to look forward to.
