Nobody Wants This season 2 having officially wrapped filming on May 12, excitement is building for the episodes. Season 1 ended with Joanne (Kristen Bell) struggling with her conversion to Judaism, while Rabbi Noah (Adam Brody) promises that they will stay together despite it all. Their unconventional connection has been controversial among their friends and families, but critics have adored the show, offering an astounding 95% Tomatometer score on Rotten Tomatoes.

After Netflix's massive Tudum celebration, the cast of Nobody Wants This gathered to share a massive announcement about the show. In the guise of playing a fun game together, the major cast shared key details about season 2 in the Netflix-provided clip below. The video features the cast sitting on two couches, while playing with a special magic-8 ball, designed with specific messages that fit Nobody Wants This' story. While asking questions to the ball, the cast revealed that season 2 will be released on October 23, 2025.

What Nobody Wants This' Release Date Means

This Is A Remarkably Quick Turnaround

This is a surprisingly quick release for a 2025 non-network TV show. After all, many shows now feature two-year gaps between seasons, including Netflix's One Piece and the long-awaited final season of Stranger Things. Romance shows are generally easier to produce, given the lack of expensive and time-consuming visual effects, but even Prime Videos's The Summer I Turned Pretty season 3 has been in development for two years. That Netflix could recognize Nobody Wants This' success and produce a second season within a year is an accomplishment in this new media landscape.

Half a year after the release of season 1, Nobody Wants This season 2 has wrapped filming, with behind-the-scenes photos to increase excitement.

Additionally, Netflix is showing a great deal of confidence in this show by sharing the release date now. It is still nearly five months away, so Netflix's decision to begin marketing the series is proof that it has faith that the sophomore season could be just as successful as the original. Given that season 1 earned multiple Golden Globe nominations, that sign of faith is warranted. While it has faced controversy over stereotyping issues, the show has maintained high viewership, which is exactly what Netflix is looking for.

Our Take On Nobody Wants This' Release Date

A Fall Release Is Good Timing

While it is curious to see a romance show releasing shortly before Halloween, it is a surprisingly good time. As the weather begins to turn, Nobody Wants This could be the perfect opportunity for couples to relax indoors and out of the increasingly cold environment. Fall is also a typical time for shows to release, though October is slightly delayed from typical September releases. As such, it is a fairly traditional release that still gives the show some room to breathe. If Netflix is looking for a way to Nobody Wants This, the October release is a great idea.
