In a new video for Wired, Death Stranding star Norman Reedus kicked off speculation about a possible sequel with a couple of stray comments. Speaking about working with Death Stranding director Hideo Kojima, the actor mentions that the two are “in talks to do other stuff.” Later in the interview, when asked about what he’s working on now, Reedus once again brings up the possibility of future collaborations with Kojima, this time mentioning specifically that he and Kojima are at least talking about working on more “Death Stranding stuff.”
The comments from Reedus are far from a confirmation that making horror games after Death Stranding, so if a sequel is on the way, it may have to wait a while.
Reedus’ offhand comments in the interview may not amount to much on their own, but it seems clear that both he and Kojima would be happy to work together again, whether it’s on a Death Stranding sequel or something else entirely. Given the success of their last project, bringing the team back together seems like a surefire way to continue the winning streak that Kojima Productions started with its very first game.
Death Stranding is available on PS4 now and will launch on PC on June 2, 2020.
