The 2020 calendar continues to shift around, and as a result, a slew of delayed movies have taken root in November 2020. It isn't uncommon for November to end up as one of the most jam-packed months in a given year. In the past, franchises like The Hunger Games have released highly-lucrative installments in November, turning the month into a go-to spot for launching blockbusters in the process.
However, even by those lofty standards, the slate of titles set for release in November 2020 is turning into something especially noteworthy. It's even looking to overshadow December 2020. That final month of the year has some big titles, but many of them are blockbuster fare, like Free Guy, that are unattached to ongoing brands. By contrast, November 2020 contains some of the most beloved studios and franchises of all-time.
Marvel Studios, Pixar, and James Bond - they've all got releases coming out in November 2020. So, too, do studios and production labels launching more modest mid-budget fare. At the moment, there are a dozen movies scheduled for release in November 2020. Here's every one of them so far.
Black Widow
Previously set for release on May 1, 2020, Thor: Ragnarok well at the box office. The same will likely be true for Black Widow, especially given that all the extra anticipation stemming from its six-month delay.
Soul
The next Pixar movie clung to its original June 19, 2020 release date for as long as it could. However, as the coronavirus pandemic raged on, keeping movie theaters closed in the process, it became clear Soul would need to find a new release date. As a result, Disney announced that Frozen II thrived last year. Soul, now one of the most anticipated movies of November 2020, will likely continue Disney's streak of success in this time-frame.
Godzilla vs. Kong
Unlike the other tent-poles, Godzilla vs. Kong was scheduled for a November 2020 release long before coronavirus broke out. Back in November 2019, Warner Bros. delayed Godzilla vs. Kong from its March 2020 release date to November 20, 2020. As November 2020 becomes more and more packed with delayed releases, even a movie starring two gargantuan beasts like Godzilla vs. Kong is starting to look overshadowed. Time will tell if that means WB ends up delaying Godzilla vs. Kong, but for now, it's yet another massive title debuting in November 2020.
No Time to Die
Starting with the 1999 entry The World Is Not Enough, James Bond movies have taken root in November. That streak appeared to be ending with No Time to Die, which was originally set for release on April 10, 2020. However, unforeseen circumstances have ensured Bond will be returning to his traditional release spot. No Time to Die was the first movie to delay its release in response to the COVID-19 epidemic. This setback will now see the newest 007 adventure opening on November 25, 2020, an end-of-the-year corridor all too familiar to recent installments in the franchise.
Other November 2020 Releases
