Obi-Wan Kenobi's 88 percent Rotten Tomatoes critics score is higher than The Book of Boba Fett's 66 percent but below both seasons of The Mandalorian at 93 percent and 94 percent, respectively. Despite the high critic score, Obi-Wan Kenobi's Rotten Tomatoes audience score sits at only 60 percent, just above The Book of Boba Fett's 58 percent audience score, while audiences gave The Mandalorian season 1 92 percent and season 2 got 90 percent, respectively.

There's still two episodes of Obi-Wan Kenobi left, so it's entirely possible the score could go up a little bit, but it could also drop a few more points to land below The Book of Boba Fett's Rotten Tomatoes audience score. If the final two episodes are well received, the show could land somewhere in the 60-70 percent range, although if fans reject those episodes, too, it only needs to drop three more points to become the lowest audience-rated Disney+ Star Wars show on Rotten Tomatoes to date.

The Mandalorian's success is often attributed to the show introducing a new character into the familiar trappings of the Star Wars universe, so it's interesting that both attempts to feature an established character on their own show have been rejected by audiences. Given this context, Lucasfilm's hesitance to recast classic characters and instead insist on using a Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Hopefully, Lucasfilm can learn to take a page from George Lucas' book and focus on storytelling instead - which is what many fans hope Obi-Wan Kenobi will also attempt across its remaining episodes.
