This Is A Huge Release For Bethesda And Virtuos Studios

With over 100,000 players currently on just Steam, the player count is sure to soar later on today. There is no current data available for the other consoles, but given the Oblivion remaster is a day-one Game title, and fans' strong desire for Bethesda games to still appear on PlayStation, even with Bethesda now being owned by Xbox, it's likely the game is going to perform well on PS5, too.

With the remaster of a beloved classic that helped pave the way for open-world RPGs seeing a simultaneous announcement and release, a whole new audience is likely to experience The Elder Scrolls for the first time, and returning veteran players are sure to find a lot to love in this updated version. There hasn't been a new entry in the long-running franchise since Skyrim in 2011, so fans have been waiting for a new game for almost 15 years, and it's taken 19 years to get the Oblivion remaster.
