Not long before Bethesda announced the imminent reveal of The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered, the game is apparently already showing up on the Steam game libraries for several s. It's yet another item in a pile of leaks regarding the long-rumored remaster of the nearly 20-year-old fantasy RPG game, and perhaps an additional hint that it's getting a shadow drop.

A Reddit post from Oblivion remaster is getting an official reveal tomorrow, Tuesday, April 22, at 11 AM ET.

The Oblivion Remaster Will Likely Drop This Week

Leaks And Speculation Point To An Immediate Shadow Drop

At this point, practically the entire gaming community is aware of the existence of the Oblivion remaster, and Tuesday's official announcement feels more like a formality. Leaks such as this potential Boosteroid slip-up or the images on the Virtuos Games website are more than solid pieces of evidence, so the remaining question is whether reports of a shadow drop for the Oblivion remaster are true or not.

But Excitement Is Still At A High

Oblivion Guard

Based on reactions to the reveal date announcement, Elder Scrolls and Bethesda fans don't seem to care that the cat was long already out of the bag for the Oblivion remaster, and players are just eager to get their hands on the title. Oblivion was a major landmark in console RPGs when it released on Xbox 360 in 2006, and the ability to play the classic game with new visuals is greatly appealing to long-time Bethesda fans.

At the same time, there are entire audiences who may have grown up playing The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim and may have been too young to play Oblivion, so a re-release on modern platforms gives them an opportunity to explore an earlier and acclaimed entry in the series. Both new and old players should be able to appreciate The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered, and if these leaks and reports are of any indication, they should be able to do so real soon.
