One of the most loved TV comedies of all time, The Office, managed to attract an astonishing cast. At its conception, it starred Steve Carell, Jenna Fischer, John Krasinski, Rainn Wilson and (for some reason) B.J. Novak. By the end, the likes of Will Ferrel, Catherine Tate and James Spader had come and go.
IMDb can be used to determine each member of the main cast’s most well-loved role outside of The Office.
Steve Carell: The Morning Show (8.4)
One of the most recent endeavors on this list is Steve Carell’s appearance in The Morning Show. Out of nowhere, an ensemble cast was gathered for this incredibly well-received drama, and as such, it has been propelled to the top of Carell’s IMDb list.
Everything from Despicable Me to Anchorman to Bruce Almighty sits beneath this brand new show.
Jenna Fischer: Brad’s Status (6.5)
One of the many of the core Office cast who hasn’t exactly had an overwhelmingly successful career after the show ended was Jenna Fischer. She might have brought a happy likeability to her character in the show, but the best rating (for a feature in which she has a prominent role) on IMDb is a mere 6.5 for Brad’s Status.
John Krasinski: A Quiet Place (7.5)
Alongside his wife Emily Blunt, John Krasinski managed to propel himself to a new level of fame after The Office. His method: co-write, direct and star in a new global horror franchise. A Quiet Place managed to create tension and horror while remaining a genuinely good film. An impressive feat from Jim.
Rainn Wilson: Almost Famous (7.9)
Despite being known the world over for his incredible portrayal of Dwight Schrute, Rainn Wilson hasn’t exactly had a formidable acting career. However, before The Office was even taking off in the UK, Wilson landed a ing role in Almost Famous.
Will Ferrel: The Lego Movie (7.8)
When it was first announced, The Lego Movie was viewed as a bland marketing strategy for the Lego brand. And it was. The thing people didn’t realize, however, was that it was going to be a genuinely hilarious, and incredibly meta film that would receive rave reviews.
Will Ferrel voices the primary antagonist of the film, before appearing in live-action form in a major twist.
Catherine Tate: Doctor Who (8.6)
In a strange turn of events, a woman known for some of the most vulgar comedy on British TV landed the position of the next Doctor Who companion after the departure of Martha Jones. She was fantastically funny and incredibly likeable in her role from start to finish, with the impressive average score the show gained in its first four (rebooted) seasons landing it an 8.4.
Ed Helms: The Hangover (7.7)
If there is one character in The Office who is actually more well-known for a character outside of the long-running sitcom, it’s Ed Helms.
Alongside the ensemble of a main cast (Bradley Cooper, Zach Galifianakis), Helms plays dentist Stu. The film was provided with two unloved sequels, but the original remains brilliant.
Craig Robinson: Dolemite Is My Name (7.3)
One of the most recent films on this list, Dolemite Is My Name, sees Craig Robinson a cast that features Eddie Murphy as Rudy Ray Moore. The biographical comedy was well-received, with Robinson himself receiving praise for his impressive role as Ben Taylor.
James Spader: Avengers: Age Of Ultron (7.3)
Landing a role in a Marvel film is pretty much a recipe for success. Full of blockbuster action and cool costumes, they’re always going to be loved. Avengers: Age Of Ultron, was exactly that, with James Spader landing the titular role of Ultron himself. He played an excellent villain in the MCU, showcasing his acting skills in another, extremely popular, franchise.
Ellie Kemper: 21 Jump Street (7.2)
She might not have been around for quite a while, but we all instantly became fans of Ellie Kemper when she ed the cast of The Office to play the overly innocent Erin.
According to IMDb, her other role that has been rated mostly highly comes from her work on the Jonah Hill comedy 21 Jump Street.
