Warning: Spoilers for the One Piece manga's Elbaph ArcThe Straw Hats have been traveling the Grand Line of the world of One Piece is.

Seeing characters who have been out of the picture for some time is already exciting, as is the case for Vivi's return post-time skip; however, what is even more exciting is to see these characters reunite with the Straw Hats. Most recently, this happened with Robin and Saul, the giant who befriended Robin and risked his own life for hers during the massacre on Ohara. After over a decade, these two finally had an unexpected, emotional reunion, warming the hearts of readers. This certainly will not be the last reunion in One Piece, as there are several audiences are eagerly awaiting.

1 Shanks and Luffy

Luffy Made A Promise To Shanks And Still Needs To Make Good On It

Possibly the most anticipated reunion in One Piece is the one that helped kick off the main plot of this series to begin with. When Luffy was a child, he wanted to be a pirate and travel the seas with Shanks and his band of Red Hair Pirates. However, given the dangerous nature of a pirate’s life, Shanks appeased the child by saying that they would only go traveling together once Luffy himself became a pirate worthy of sailing with.

If One Piece Made You Love Sanji, His Most Underrated Arc Is Gunning For the Netflix Hit

Netflix's adaptation of One Piece delivers a phenomenal iteration of Sanji, and the character is about to enter his most under rated arcs.

This has been a massive motivation for Luffy throughout his adventures in the Grand Line, becoming a respectable captain and slowly building his crew as he travels from island to island. All the while, audiences get to see Shanks’ reactions as the Straw Hat pirates grow in number and bounty during their journey to achieve their dreams. Now that they are both in the same waters, the time is nearing for their paths to cross as they pursue their ultimate goal, the One Piece.

2 Zoro and Mihawk

To Become The Greatest Swordsman, Zoro Must Fight Mihawk Again

Another reunion that is a guarantee is Mihawk and Zoro's. Zoro's dream is to be the best swordsman, so he must beat Mihawk to earn that title; however, unlike most of the Straw Hats, he had an opportunity to achieve this dream before crossing the Grand Line. Although he is not at the level he needs to be at to best Mihawk, he earns the War Lord's respect, and their rematch is highly anticipated. While Mihawk and Zoro have reunited once before, with Zoro training under Mihawk for two years, the rematch of the century has yet to come.

3 Laboon and Brook

Brook's Dream Is To Reunite With Laboon

Another Straw Hats' dream hinges on a reunion, and that is Brook's dream to one day see Laboon again. What's interesting is that Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Usopp, and Sanjo have already incidentally met Laboon, a giant whale who's waiting for a pirate crew, before they meet Brook. While at first, it seemed like Laboon's crew perished or broke their promise, it turns out Brook, who has one of the saddest backstories, is the only survivor of that crew. After being freed from Thriller Bark, he s the Straw Hats, hoping to travel around the world and back to Laboon.

4 Vivi and Nami

Vivi Is Back In One Piece, But She Has Yet To Reunite With Nami

Nami and Vivi’s friendship is the greatest representation of sisterhood that One Piece has covered. While Robin and Nami’s friendship is equally sweet, the former pair got along like ducks to water, often never too far away from each other’s sides and always covering the other’s back when in a pinch. Miss Wednesday was one of the select few people who traveled alongside the Straw Hats for multiple chapters, and many fans believed that when Alabasta was saved, Vivi would have tagged along with the vagabond pirates for even more adventures outside her palace.

Although Vivi longed to them at sea, Alabasta still needed her since the country was in the midst of a much-needed recovery after Crocodile’s tampering. The parting was swathed in sorrow and hope that they would one day reunite in a tearful celebration. However, the story may not live up to the happy part of their reunion, since Vivi and several other princesses at the Reverie are now of special interest to the World Government.

Don't Be Fooled, One Piece's Female Characters Are Some of the Best In All of Anime

While some of the character designs may turn people off of One Piece, the women of this shonen series are much more than meets the eye.

With rumors about her kidnapping, most of the Straw Hats, especially Nami, are ready to jump into action. Of all the Straw Hats, Nami is perhaps the closest to Vivi, so their reunion is bound to be the sweetest.

5 Usopp and Kaya

Usopp Has New Adventures To Tell Kaya

A reunion that will likely not happen until the very end will be between Usopp and Kaya. As a sheltered child, Kaya grew up alone in her mansion, but Usopp would visit Kaya and recount fabricated tales about his grand adventures. This carried through until he was 17 and met the Straw Hats, saving Kaya and eventually ing their crew. With Usopp now living out the adventures he once fantasized about, his return to his hometown as a great warrior would mean he could share stories of these adventures with Kaya once more.

6 Koala and Jimbe

Jimbe And Koala Have A History That Goes Back Years

When Jimbe served under Fisher Tiger, the Sun Pirates took in a slave girl, Koala. Along with reminding her of her humanity, the captain and crew realize that Fishmen and humans can co-exist. Eventually, they return Koala to her family, but despite their act of kindness, Koala's family reports Fisher Tiger to the Marines, eventually leading to an attack that critically wounds him. While one of the young girl's saviors, Fisher Tiger, is dead, Jimbe, who also developed a familial relationship with Koala, is still alive. With Koala working for One Piece's Revolutionary Army now, it would be endearing to see them reunite, especially since Koala and Jimbe are fighting for the same cause.

7 Sabo and Dadan

Curly Dadan Still Thinks Sabo Is Dead

Curly Dadan is a mother figure to Luffy, Ace, and Sabo. Sabo eventually sets sail without his brothers, but his ship is blown up by the World Government, leading many to think he's dead. Dadan is hit particularly hard by this, recognizing how it is the World Government that killed a child. While Sabo survives, he never returns home due to memory loss up until Ace's death. To make matters worse, rumors of his death are circulating once more. While readers know he's alive, Dadan has gone through his death twice, so seeing them reunite will surely be tearful and cathartic.

8 Gecko Moria and Perona

Perona Left Mihawk To Find Gecko Moria

Although One Piece fans never really get a close look at the bond between Gecko Moria and Perona, there’s a loyalty that extends beyond her devotion to him as a captain and former War Lord. The incredibly spooky undead pirate may have been a type of father figure to the lost ghoul and Moria has shown to be very protective of his crew, such as the circumstances surrounding the death of Absalom at Blackbeard’s hands. Upon learning that his former crewmember lost his life for his Devil Fruit, Moria raided Blackbeard’s island.

When it comes to the One Piece remake series, developing some of the arcs as movies may help the pacing.

Perona meanwhile has been on Mihawk’s island, having stayed there for years post-time skip and watching the strongest swordsman train alongside Zoro. It’s only after she learns that Gecko Moria is still alive and wreaking havoc against Blackbeard that she decides to leave the island in search of her former captain. Although these two have been depicted since then, growing closer to each other’s locations, the manga has not yet shown their reunion, one that is sure to be heart-breaking after years apart and only so few of Moria’s tiny crew left remaining.

9 Robin and Crocodile

Before The Straw Hats, Robin Was Crocodile's Right Hand

While it would not be a heartfelt reunion, like it was between Robin and Saul, it is inevitable that Robin and Crocodile meet again. After all, Robin was Crocodile's right hand for years. After Baroque Works' defeat in One Piece, though, Robin escaped while Crocodile suffered the consequences. Crocodile has already come back into the picture, even teaming up with Luffy to escape Impel Down and fight during Marineford. With Crocodile now part of the Cross Guild, an organization he started up with Mihawk and Buggy the Clown, it seems like his path will eventually cross with Robin's once more.

10 Pudding and Sanji

Pudding And Sanji's Tragic Romance Could Come Back

While Whole Cake was just before Wano, there is already a reunion in the making, building off of Sanji and Pudding's engagement. While Pudding was ready to betray Sanji, he won over her heart, hence why she helped him escape. However, Big Mom is not one to let the Straw Hats go, so she pursues them, leaving some of her family behind. While gone, Pudding is kidnapped by Blackbeard, and at the time of this writing, she is still his prisoner. The Straw Hats will need to face Blackbeard, and in doing so, Sanji will have the chance to reunite with Pudding, potentially saving her life.
