One Piece's New Series Will Be a Chronological Compilation

Every Straw Hat's Backstory and Journey Will Be Depicted in Order of Events

It is important to note that since this new series has been described as a re-edited collection, the chances of there being new, never-before-seen content are slim. That said, the Character Remix series has the chance to finally properly lay out any non-linear character backstories in One Piece, such as those of Luffy and Sanji.

Luffy's volumes will likely be very similar to the original manga as fans know it, which is largely told from Luffy's perspective. That said, Luffy's journey may not begin with Romance Dawn but rather in the Goa Kingdom, starting with his meeting with Ace and Sabo, which in the One Piece manga was only shown around 500 chapters into the story after the events of Marineford. Similarly, Sanji's volume could also show his early childhood in the Germa Kingdom and his meeting with Zeff in proper order, which is sure to be even more heartbreaking than before when put together.

Overall, One Piece's new Character Remix series is sure to be worth a read, as knowing Oda, they are bound to be full of easter eggs and maybe even some hints to the series' many mysteries. Luffy's volume in particular has the most potential for including subtle hints and highlighting instances of foreshadowing, though the rest of the Straw Hats' volumes may also end up surprising fans.

Created by Eiichiro Oda, One Piece is a multimedia franchise that began as a manga series and follows the adventures of the Straw Hat Pirates as led by Monkey D. Luffy. Luffy, an enthusiastic pirate with a thirst for adventure, is afflicted by a mysterious curse that gives him various powers he uses to protect himself and his friends. The manga eventually gave way to the anime series, with the two being some of history's longest-running anime and manga series. Along with over fifty video games made over the years, the series entered the live-action world with Netflix's 2023 adaptation.
