Warning: Contains spoilers for chapter #164 of the One-Punch Man digital manga
A long-dead One-Punch Man villain just came back in the most unexpected way, setting the stage for a new, exciting arc in One and Yusuke Murata's hit manga.
Villains usually do not stick around too much in One-Punch Man, as the epic fights between the professional heroes of the Hero Association and the monsters known as Mysterious Beings typically end with the total annihilation of the latter. This is especially true when the protagonist Saitama is involved, who is so insanely powerful that one of his punches, even with restrained strength, is enough to completely erase his enemies from existence. This was the case with Boros, the leader of a gang of alien invaders who attacked Earth and was annihilated by Saitama, despite being the most powerful villain to appear in the series up to that point. Boros had something in common with Saitama. Just like the bald hero, the alien conqueror was so strong that he could never find a real challenge, growing bored with his existence. During the course of an epic battle that almost destroyed the planet, Saitama showed Boros the real meaning of strength, mercilessly destroying him with his Serious Punch.
In chapter #164, however, Boros made an unexpected return as a member of the mysterious team that accompanies Blast, the S-class Rank 1 hero of the Hero Association. The group is alerted by the cataclysmic effects that hotly-anticipated battle between Saitama and Garou is causing on planet Earth, and they hurry to prevent a "dimensional seal" from breaking.
Truth be told, the figure appearing as one of Blast's allies could not be Boros, but a member of his (yet unnamed) alien race. During the battle with Saitama, Boros bragged about his regenerative abilities being the greatest in the universe, explaining that his species developed them to adapt to the harsh climate of their home planet. The character appearing in chapter #164 shares Boros' hairstyle, his single cyclopic eye, and wears similar armor, but the markings on his face look different and his earrings. It could then be that this is another member of the same alien species, who ed Blast's team in their quest to stop One-Punch Man's mysterious and all-powerful creature called God.
Nothing has yet been revealed about this group of (supposed) heroes, besides that they are opposing God, at least judging from Blast's words and actions. Perhaps the Rank 1 hero has been recruiting the most powerful warriors across the universe to fight this threat and considering how strong Boros was, it would make sense to add him to the team (if he somehow survived his clash with Saitama), or another individual from his species, possessing similar powers. It would be very interesting to see Boros himself come back: he was the first villain in the series to survive one punch from Saitama, and the very first of Saitama's opponents that took more than one punch to kill. Fans of One-Punch Man loved the character and will be excited to see him again, but they will have to wait a little longer to find out more about Blast, his team, God, and the other exciting mysteries in One-Punch Man.
