When fans look back on Hill, they the sweet relationships between Lucas and Peyton, Nathan and Haley, and Julian and Brooke. They love the friendships, the setting of a small town, and the dramatic high school storylines. But while viewers revisit this show often, as the young adult drama is addicting, not every part of the show is perfect.
From some of the more intense and out there plotlines to some decisions about the characters' love lives, along with some unnecessary moments, Reddit s are discussing the changes that they would make to One Tree Hill.
Lucas And Peyton Need To Talk More About His Failed Wedding
Fans don't really think that Lucas and Lindsey will get married, and this failed wedding is one of the best Lucas One Tree Hill plotlines since it leads him back to Peyton.
For Reddit rwatkins829, they think that it would have been nice to see these characters discussing what happened. They explained, "I wish Lucas and Peyton had spent an entire episode where they talked through things." Since viewers wait for so long for these characters to get back together, a long conversation would be great.
Does Haley Need To Tour While Still In High School?
Haley has a beautiful singing voice and a clear talent, but going on the road in high school isn't considered one of the most realistic parts of the series.
Reddit IamGrootGrootIam says, "I would get rid of the Hailey going on tour as a high school jr." The fan doesn't find it super belivable that Haley would be able to do this when she's still a teenager and mentioned that it also doesn't seem like Haley loves to sing all that much in season 1. It would make sense if Haley considered a music career after high school but decided to stay in Tree Hill for the time being.
The Derek Storyline Is Unnecessary
Reddit lavin95 wishes that the season 4 plotline of "Psycho Derek" wasn't part of the show, and it's definitely true that this story stands out and not in a good way.
It's tough watching Peyton struggle with someone pretending to be her half-brother and actually stalking her. Many fans would likely agree that Peyton has been through so much and it doesn't feel all that realistic or possible for this to really happen.
Haley And Nathan Should Be Apart In Season 3
Although Haley and Nathan are a fan favorite One Tree Hill couple, they have som real problems in season 3 and the show could slow down and explore the changes and issues in their relationship more.
One Redditor thinks that in season 3, Haley and Nathan should break up for a long time as "Nathan forgave her pretty fast and I'd love to have had more scenes of them estranged." Nathan has a right to be upset that Haley and Chris kiss, but Haley also feels that she and Chris have a bond, so there's a lot for this couple to work through.
Could One Tree Hill Have Ended With Season 4 Or 6?
Some One Tree Hill fans think that the show didn't need to be 9 seasons and would have stopped it much sooner.
Reddit Jobr95 would love for the show to end after season 4, writing, "The characters were explored enough and the Highschool setting was a big part of what made the show more memorable than other soapy drama's." Reddit Number175OnEarlsList thinks that it would make sense for the show's final season to be season 6 because this is when "Peyton and Lucas left."
Focus On The Realistic Parts Of The Show
When fans think about the best One Tree Hill episodes, they love when the main characters are dealing with the changes in their lives.
Reddit confusedlabrador would love if One Tree Hill "retained the realism of the show" and continued, "I felt so jaded during the latter seasons after all the psycho stalkers, car crashes, shootings, and kidnapper/hostage situations." One Tree Hill does focus on many storylines in later seasons that are pretty out there, and several viewers would appreciate more realism and less supernatural or intense plotlines. There's enough drama happening with the main friend group, especially when it comes to their dating lives.
Peyton's Mom Should Stay Alive
While it's nice watching Peyton bond with her mom Ellie, it's awful seeing Peyton grieve Ellie's death. Peyton has suffered for her entire life, and this feels like one more sad experience that she has to deal with.
Reddit alkaseltzerwitch thinks that Ellie shouldn't die as "It would have been nice to have another adult in Tree Hill that wasn't Karen or Keith." Many fans likely share this opinion as Peyton doesn't have any positive role models or grown-ups in her life.
Jake And Peyton Should End Up Together
One Tree Hill fans mostly ship Peyton and Lucas, but Jake is another positive love interest in Peyton's high school life. Although dealing with a partner who has a child is intense for Peyton, Jake treats her properly and truly loves her.
For Reddit Greeneyedgal13, this couple should end up together and they would "have kept Jake around and have the main triangle evolve to Jake/Peyton/Lucas." If Peyton was going to end up with anyone who wasn't Lucas, many viewers would agree that Jake would make sense.
Haley And Nathan Shouldn't Get Married So Early
There are countless great Haley and Nathan One Tree Hill episodes, but not everyone agrees that they should marry each other at such a young age.
Reddit DeepThinker101 would love to see "Naley gets married later on." It's hard to see why they rush into marriage when they could keep dating and get married after high school or even college. This isn't a storyline that is easy to understand, although fans know that these characters care about each other deeply and want to be together forever.
Nanny Carrie Doesn't Need To Be On The Series
Reddit Greeneyedgal13 "get rid of nanny Carrie storyline. Worst storyline of the series," a sentiment that many fans share.
Nanny Carrie's plotline is awkward as she seems cruel for no real reason. It's also tough watching her kidnap Jamie as he doesn't deserve this. It would make more sense to focus on the tough times that Nathan and Haley have while raising their family.
