Why Only Murders In The Building Season 4 Might Be The Best Yet
The Newest Cast, Plus A Setting Change, Sets The Show Up For Success
Each Only Murders in the Building season creates an effective balance of delightful comedy and enticing mystery, but season 4 already has several elements in place that may make it the strongest installment yet. The most important is that this season will be investigating the death of Sazz, whose death is the most personal case yet for Charles, Oliver, and Mabel. There is a possibility that Charles was the killer's intended target, making this case also potentially the most dangerous the trio has investigated so far.
Even if Sazz was the target, it's still a deeply personal case considering how important she was to Charles personally and professionally. Season 1's victim, Tim Kono (Julian Cihi), had years of personal history with Mabel, but it was of a darker nature, whereas Charles and Sazz just had a genuinely nice friendship and professional partnership, making Sazz's death all the more tragic. The trio knew season 2's victim, Bunny Folger (Jayne Houdyshell), but weren't close with her, and they all understandably disliked season 3's victim, Ben Glenroy (Paul Rudd).

Only Murders In The Building Season 3 Ending & Killer Explained
Only Murders in the Building’s Broadway-infused mystery comes to a close with the true killer of Paul Rudd’s Ben Glenroy finally being revealed.
Having the season set in New York City and Los Angeles also opens the story to new and exciting avenues for its comedy and for the overarching mystery. This will be heightened by the return of Streep, one of the show's strongest guest stars to date, along with the additions of comedic legends like Levy sharing the screen with Martin, Short, and Gomez. Only Murders in the Building season 4 will seemingly continue to emphasize its greatest strengths while also bringing in new elements that will make the series continue to be a refreshing hit.
Only Murders in the Building season 4 will debut on August 27.
