While Pixar's newest movie, Onward, might be full of emotion and heart, that doesn't mean that it isn't very funny at the same time. Great humor has become a staple of Pixar films, and this fantasy adventure is no different in that regard.

While it might not be Pixar's funniest film of all time, there are still some amazing moments of humor that will have audiences bursting out with laughter. The moments of humor are perfectly spliced into the film as well, not being too heavy.

The film certainly has incredibly charming moments, with both physical humor and fantastic one-liners taking place. Within this list, we will take a look at Onward's main characters and rank them in order of funniness, while also revealing their most hilarious quote.

Colt Bronco: "Working Hard, Or Hardly Working?"

Officer Bronco Cropped

Colt Bronco brings some brilliance to the film throughout. He might not appear in a ton of the movie, and he is the classic grumpy stepfather and policeman, but that doesn't mean he doesn't have some funny moments. Bronco comes out with some fun lines as he tries to be cool in order to fit in.

Of course, it always ends up being awkward, no matter what he does, and that's simply part of his charm. He gets in the way of things for the Lightfoot brothers at times, but he does mean well, and that's what makes him so great. His best line comes with his classic quote, "Working hard, or hardly working?" It is iconic throughout the film as the Lightfoot boys mock him.

Laurel Lightfoot: "Your Dad Was An ant"

Julia Louis Dreyfus as Laurel Lightfood in Onward

Laurel Lightfoot is the mother of the movie, and she is an absolutely amazing character. She is simply desperate to do the best thing possible to help her sons. However, she does bring out some classic 'mom' jokes as well throughout the film, as she tries to see things in a logical manner.

A great example of that is early on in the film when she gets the wizard staff that her husband left behind for his sons. Barley yells out that he was a wizard and Laurel just instinctively denies that, stating that he was an ant. It's such a back to earth comment that it's hard to not find it hilarious.

Pixie Duster: "Oh, It's On Shades"

The Pixie Dusters are very fun characters that provide the Lightfoot brothers with a few issues along their travels. While they might seem cute and friendly, the truth is that the group are a rough and tough biker gang who aren't to be meddled with at all.

However, Barley Lightfoot ends up putting his foot in his mouth which leads to issues between them. However, it is the awkward movement of Wilden appearing to stare at them that leads to their best line, "Oh, it's on shades."

Ian Lightfoot: "It’s Not A Quest. It’s Just A Really Fast And Strange Errand."

Ian Lightfoot is one of the main characters in Onward. He's a young boy turning into a man who is desperate to meet his father, just once. A lot of his comedy comes through sheer awkwardness, which is how his personality is, but that leads to some really funny moments.

His best quote comes early on in the film, as they are about to set off on their journey and it sums up how his humor works. He likes things to be logical, which leads to him constantly breaking things down to try and make sense of them, which leads to some really funny moments.

Corey: "Ah! I Forgot To Tell Them About The Curse!"

Corey Cropped

Corey is a manticore and is one of the few characters in the movie who still has magic and powers, which brings a link back. However, she is also absolutely hilarious, which is clear from the start as she is working in her tavern and losing her cool about the karaoke machine.

Her best quote comes when she explains to Laurel that she forgot to tell the Lightfoot boys about the curse. She is meant to be a big hero, but in actual fact, she is past that point in her life and is just happy downing energy drinks, which brings some funny physical comedy to the film as well.

Wilden Lightfoot

There is no hilarious quote to go along with Wilden Lightfoot because the character doesn't have a head for the vast majority of the film. He only has a few actual lines, but they're not necessarily funny. So, how does he rank so highly on this list?

Well, the reason for that is because of the brilliant physical comedy that he brings to the film. He's only got legs, yet he provides some flat out hilarious moments such as the fantastic dance scene. Seeing him react to different things and get dragged around like a dog is never not funny to see during the movie.

Barley Lightfoot: "I definitely Dad having a top part."

Barley Lightfoot in Onward voiced by Chris Pratt

The funniest character of Onward is without a doubt, Barley Lightfoot. He is the elder brother of the two and one of the lead characters, which means he gets plenty of screentime. While he can be serious, most of the time that isn't the case and he brings tons of comedy to the movie.

The role is played perfectly by Chris Pratt who brings a lot of energy to his performance. His change in voice when he talks about quests brings a lot of fun, but his funniest quote comes early on. The moment happens when his father first appears, but it is just his legs as Barley confirms that he certainly re him having a top half.
